Contents of box

I think the most stuff that Microsoft has included with their games was, Mechwarrior. But that has been about it. "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance..."

There is some sort of environmental value to using less resources (that typically get tossed) and non-plastic cases.. Look, not trying to hug a tree here.. just saying. I do not like the small manual however. I enjoy reading them in the.. well you know where most of us read them <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Anyhow.. it seems to be a trend that spans far beyond M$ -X

Better than cfs3 where all the instructions are on the cd so you have to read them on the pc!! Remember, You are not a Salmon[!

I could not care less about the contents of the box...the cd is good and has all the content I want! If you played the demo very much...you really do not need a manual...the game is that easy to learn and play. Thanks to a great interface DA created.

i like the manual the way it is... the rest of the info you can read in your nueral net as you explore... I think it is also cool that they are not wasting paper or other materials in the packaging. There is too much waste in the world as is (yes, I am a tree hugging, salmon saving leftist liberal) If you want a card of the controls just make a color copy of pages 20 and 21.

I felt it was cheap of them not to put it in a jewel case or a folding cardboard case (ala Tachyon: The Fringe). ____________________________ If cats always land on thier feet. What would happen if you strap 2 cats back to back and drop them? Probably destroy space and time.

Anyone Who Bought the game having seconds thoughts of purchasing the game in the first place and can´t return their OPENED BOX Product.. well it is your lucky day! I´m willing to buy your game off of you! for half the price you paid for it!! sorry it´s opened box! and now it is considered used! lol.

akito927 Lol!..a good one. Greb Jnnayr On the jewel case note...they cost like 50 cents a piece. So if you want a jewel case for your Freelancer cd ( which I do )...go buy one and stop complaining.

Sounds to me like the publisher cut on expenses to cover up for the delayed release... so it might also be a correct assumption that their profit margin on this game will be rather small unless very very many people buy it at it´s initial retail price. ... so would that follow that financing an update for it will be out of the question for a rather long time? <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Hope the European box will have more content than the American. Maybe a little ship or a trent figure will do the trick. What about a Freelancer sticker. Way cooool. Sounds good that the manual are in colors. I Rule!!!!!

What is this trend with not giving real plastic jewel cases? There´s no problem with the environment - I don´t throw them out! The little dinky cardboard ones aren´t very sturdy and some actually scratch the CD. Not enough with the box, I agree. I got spoiled by that huge ´ol compendium-manual combo that came with Starsiege. At the very least, they should have had a listing of ships with a snapshot and description, and a REAL CD case. Not enough space on the box for really good art/screens, either. Heck, I almost missed it on the shelf and started to walk out the door all upset until the guy behind the counter pointed out the tiny line of boxes on the top rack. The contents and size of the box is pretty important. Of course, that´s more than made up for by a huge, huge game, but the packaging should suit what it´s holding. Reaper: $200,000,000. Rockets: $100,000 The look on that pilot´s face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

Smaller boxes mean more copies take up less space, means they can have more variety in the same space and increase overall products available without having the increase store size or remove other items just to make room for software. Which, in the end, ends up in the trash anyway. Who the hell keeps the damn box? &lt;looks around at floor, ceiling, etc.&gt; But hey, they had to cut out the jewel case to play for all the free t-shirts ! hehe regards, RogueOne

Hahahha, Jewel cases rule... Beef is the best...... and btw... I´m a member of the Green party.... go figure eh? I just picked up my Aussie version, and guess what, I got a plastic Jewel case for my CD. Weird how the US version had a paper case..... Guess us Aussies really are catching up eh?? Badcalma
