Well our service is on the fritzzzzzz again had to call them our new router is going out keep getting a 503 can't connect and i let em have both ears full,this time they said thier coming out monday to replace it ,i don't understand,u would think that a singnal would go through these tipi walls,and i'm also in the front woods not the backwoods :shock:

your not going to need an amp with that are you and if it's fiber you can use a fiber splice and a shoter peice of fiber to extend what you already have

i had a trading web site i used to use massive site -- scripts popups and charts and live feeds and graphics and direct links all front end live on screen and on roadrunner it would take like a minute or more to load up everthing total -- on Fios it was like Bam

And where do you get verison fios,as i live in the front woods and can bearly get dsl some times we have to have sunshine piped in and we have five machines sometimes six if i'm testing a board or os have eight machines total and a few musem machines(still trying to get the cats to give me the mouse back) :mrgreen:

FIOS is available here and I know several ppl who have it. I have contemplated changing over, but I see no difference in the picture quality (HD) and the speed does not bother me. I actually can fly 2 ships @ same time using 2 comps playing FL online, and if I can do that as well as d/l 200-500 meg files quickly enough to be acceptable, I will wait until some pro or con changes my mind. I also note that Verizon did have an issue w/firmware in thier set-top boxes where some TVs could not function properly using HDMI. That may since have been resolved, but it did make me hesitate. When the time comes, I'll end up w/FIOS or another provider of same service (Guess Who is getting into that). Later!

I just found out Taw dos'nt use tv..it's all under his tea towel(which is wrapped tooo tight)

actually I don't watch television, apart from Al-Jazeera news and even that's a rarity. Gradually stopped watching it years ago, it's all lies and prolefeed anyway.

Might watch the occasional nature or history documentary or film if I'm in the room when it's on, but as far as I'm concerned television had its heyday years ago and now it's just unoriginal drivel designed to keep the masses happy. And that's in the UK where compared to most other countries we still have a decent national broadcaster - I've seen your telly in the US, it's unwatchable. Gave me a headache. Same shows but the advertising is too pervasive and your news channels aren't worthy of the name, sorry to say. They were once though, back in the days of investigative journalism, but now they pander to popular opinion and whoever pays the piper calls the tune (Fox News for example which is an utter disgrace and not worthy of the title of "news" channel)

Therefore, there is no use for anything on Telly other than that which has long passed -yes? First, there is no 'news' that is 'newsworthy' and that is hardly limited to any/all U.S. Broadcasts. Can we be even close to understanding the current events on this Planet by delving either deeply or in shallow uselessness into what is portrayed all over by many as thier own particular truism? Nope - not even maybe (IMHO).

So, if Tawakalna and I are even close to understanding each other (I believe we are), where do we stand as an entirety? Guess what - it does not matter because all of the Powers-That-Be (Journalistic, Governmental, Advertisement, or otherwise) are NOT controlled by you or me; rather, all things are controlled by a very tightly-knit and terribly powerful set of individuals/groups who have no intention of "letting anything go". So, let's stick to nicely entertaining Telly, stick our heads in the sand (or between our legs) and let the Powers-That-Be fight it out. Until there is some perceivable
break in the weather (not likely anytime soon) there is simply no sense in taking all things as seriously as some would. Gotta live life - and Keep on Freelancin'!!

I must confess that when I say that I don't watch telly (which is true) I will occasionally watch UK Gold for a couple of hours if I've got nowt to do - all classic shows from the past - Dad's Army, Are You Being Served? It Ain't 'Arf 'Ot Mum, Nearest & Dearest, Rising Damp etc etc - it's all so much better than today's rubbish!
