would you mind explaining what you mean by accessibility?

Thank you Thank you Thank you, in all the forums and gaming sites i've been to, i've never seen anything to help handicap gamers before, this is trully a blessing, there are a lot of people that are challenged in their life, that spend alot of time on the net.

But don't play because of accessibility problems that would play otherwise.

Its like another game that i've played since it came out Stalker shadow of chernobyl, Freelancer is open ended ,stalker isn't but you can go anywhere on the maps,and back to the start points,it gives months and months of enjoyment. and some or most of the mods are open ended,many games are corridor games and can be beat in a matter of hours, and then just set on the shelf. Game developers don't see the handicapped side of gaming,alot of handicapped or challenged people are very intelligent and intuitive, like my buddy who became challenged later in life,he's 62,retired army,100% handicapped,70% of his time is taken up by playing games.
it keeps his mind active(boy i need a spell cherker) sorry about the long post
I'm 52 and only been playing for7 or 8 years, I don't believe in cheating on games
never played on line,don't know how to go about it,he doesn't either,i'm going to learn how to mod freelancer, have played the game for along time and loved it. it's exploring, and charting and exciting. Microsoft shouldn't have given up on this game,they should give the code base to the community,to code from the origanal core of the game, I wish to Thank Knife for putting this feature in the forums

Sorry i have'nt been able to get back to you all, a lot of running to do,how about a trainer? nothing uber something that you can start off with that your not allmost broke and your not having to throw rocks at them,to make a kill, in the vannila game, or even some of the mods, you can't make anough credits to even,buy a ship or a deceit gun ,missle ,mine ,or dropper till you have all most finished the game,it would have to be made for sp use,and Bretonia doesnt have any decent ships,any ideas,would be much apreciated

I'm Just an ol Gamer,i don't know about modding this type of game yet,or how to play in multiplayer, but i would like to learn,i know that trainers are considered, as cheats,thats why i sudgested for single player,oh and yesterday when i came to the forums an site i kept getting a 503 error,was the server down,wanting to know if it's my system or a bug or what,and the only modds i have are balancing mods, that give the edge a little more to the player in stalker,not uber,stalker is very hard to start off in for alot of people,and i was wondering has any body considered a mod were you could build your own ship at a ship dealer or station,you know two or three frame shapes ,wings engine mounts,hard points,is it even possible ,think of the expansion possiblities for the game. :idea:

I wanted to applaud this thread -- i have a disabled daughter and it is nice to see a discussion along these lines -- any time you make things more open and assecible you Better the Whole Community -- sadly i dont think she will ever play anything along this line but there is always hope -- and That is the Key

In Vanilla mode you dont have to continue the missions till your ready so after the first one just start trading doing insystem NY runs -- build up credit and get better weapons -- the early missions you are pretty much invulnerable ( to a degree mind you ) There is a walk thru that explains this in better detail -- i will post it on this thread when i find it

So you play a mission -- explore build up credits -- play a mission explore build -- by the time i left Liberty I was flying a defender gunned out to hilt with plenty of cash -- then do the same in bretonia -- ( just dont stand and fight the Corsairs Run and i do mean Run ) -- I got stuck on the race -- cause i am a terrible pilot -- ironic in thaqt i have a perfect real world driving record ?? -- Anyway i got stuck and went exploring all through the systems and when i finally figured out the race i was rich

this is a decent walkthru with a couple of good tips

:idea: Is it possible to make a control mod, Like to be able to use a joy stick, never could figure out why the game designers didn't do this, many games use a joystick and have it as a option in the control panel to play either way, especially flight games use joysticks or a combination of both keyboard and stick. A joy stick is much easyer for some people to use instead of just mouse and keyboard. anybody have any ideas ?

Thanks for the Help MrEd and those that got me to the down load of joy2mouse3, i'm fixing to reload this computer,time for it's yearly clean out and then i'm going to set this program up and see if i can get it to work will let you all know

I think this post of "Accessibility" is a very good idea! :lol: (i'm not handicap but i think that a handicap person has the same rights as a normal one )

Yes if you know of any mods that would be of benifit to help handicapped and the phy.challenge,even that could help taw please post them here and or a link to download them,as there are a lot of people that are phy,challenged that this would help

well here's a few thoughts..(hope i don't strain anything)...

Ay..well we might have to look into making some ,possibly a new catagorie of mods designed to make the game easyer to forage through,i'll have to ask around and see if it's possible to change things in the options and gaming controls as it is in other games

The nice thing about being at my age is that i can set outside and look at unobjectivly at how things work or be inside and help to, it makes you more focused on what ever project you are trying to do,and there is always a way to accomplish what ever goal you set out to achieve ...espeacialy when you can enlist the help of other good modders, coders ect...and you also generally make some good and long lasting friendships along the way,and these are some of the things that make it all worth while

I've always been very close to my friends, and, until now, all them have been worth! Especially girls don't need to say why do I? 8-)

Yes i totally agree with you,i have friends that have out lasted three wives and many buddys, these People are close to me and they are my true Brothers and Sisters,The lady that i have now is my very best friend that i couldn't find before and she makes the world spin for me,as they say we are joined at the hip and go every were together and do every thing together,wished i had found this thirty years ago,but thats ok as i have found it now

We have been together a year and marrage is not far off . we have talked a great deal on the subject and it's something we both want so it will happen as i wasn't looking and had been baching 5 years,my daughters and her daughters got us to meet and she was't looking either at the time,but we know what love and comitment is and have decide to spend the time that Creator has given us together
