Chat support

  • Not sure if this is the correct forum, mods please move if it's not :)

on the announcement found here you see the text

"For information, help and other chat please visit
    irc.quakenet.org - irc network
    #LR – irc channel
    "

What can happen is you can use irc:// links. irc:// works just like ftp:// or http://. To use irc:// links the user needs to have an irc client installed that supports irc:// which is nearly all of them. So you could have:

For information, help and other chat please visit
    irc.quakenet.org - irc network
    #LR – irc channel

Clicking either of the links above will make the users irc client connect directly to QuakeNet and then join #LR

    Hope this helps,

    kat

  • all modern browsers support irc:// and more than just mIRC supports irc://.

In fact there are more browsers and clients that support irc:// than those that don't.

  • Opera 9 has a chat plugin with it. I used it in the past fine.
