CTD's coalition

  • Playing coalition mod as soon as u leave pittsburg to meet king, ctd reloaded mod, reloaded flm replayed same thing any ideas, anybody :?:

  • First thing that comes to my mind is this:

I haven't tried that mod, so I cannot give you
a clearly accurate answer, but this is what I do know
    from my own experience.

The mod may not be compatable with single player,
because IF that mod changes any part of the
mission story line, it often causes a CTD or
Game Freeze because of a data base conflict.

The story line is extremely finicky when it comes to
adding or taking away of any components contained
    in that data base.

However, if perhaps it's only something related to
VISTA, that could be an entirely different matter.

  • Running xp sp2,have Vista ultimate 64 on another machine,I downloaded the mod from the down loads section it was just called the coalalition

  • If, and I mean if you have used any other mods before the coalition mod you may have a bad file in your Freelancer folder.
Sometimes when you deactivate a mod not all the files get removed and this will cause problems.

If you want to use mods the safe thing to do is...

Delete Freelancer, not just uninstall but just delete the Freelancer folder and then install Freelancer again.
This will insure that you have a clean install and none of the files are bad.
It's faster to delete the Freelancer folder then waiting for it to uninstall anyway.
After you install Freelancer again then you can activate the mod again and play.

Also saved games from previous games can cause a conflict, so either move them to a new folder or just delete the saves also.

If this don't work then the problem is with the mod files.

  • Went in and completly removed freelancer even the folders in programs x86,folders and mods indocuments and all flm folders after doing total install, no folders no files no registy links nothing left, defrag registy defrag computer, ran tuneup utilities,Ran wincare ran antivirius, ran registry cleaner also restarted computer, reinstalled,FreeLancer, restarted computer FLM 1.31,uninstalled all mods thay are in flm, whent into mods, folder in flm an cked ,empty, reinstalled coalition, restarted computer , started game, same spot in game same thing ,and this is what i do for any mod that is installed,Thinking it's the mod ,notes in mod says it's for single player, may need patch :(

  • Since it's single player your trying to run....

    1. The mod itself could have been developed for Multiplayer
    only.
In that instance. It has a "fatal flaw" in that it also modifies
critical places in the single player files. Thus the reason
for your ctd's. That flaw is what's causing it.
You can try to dig into the files to compare the Single player
mission files with the mod files (in a separate installation).
You'll be looking for the proverbial "needle in a haystack"
because you'll eventually find many of them.
IF you can find the flaw and repair it, chances may be
likely that the mod itself will quit working and you'll get that
    infamous ctd again.

    2. However, if you should try to start up your own server,
you might find that it will work ok. But just make sure
    it's a clean install.
