Cotidie damnatur qui semper timet - The man who is constantly in fear is every day condemned. (Syrus)

  • I had actually, and Mrs Taw got me the book for Christmas, you can see our house in it! (just about)

it's a great site though, lots to see. I am always irked though that they don't show the various sizes of countries corresponding to how important they are, Britain is always shown as being a small island off the coast of north west Europe when in fact it's a giant island that occupies most of the north Atlantic and dwarfs everywhere else. Also, countries that I know are British are shown as something else! Canadia, Australia and New Zealand are still British Dominions and therefore should be coloured red as should most of Africa and southern Asia and the West Indies. I'm not sure what's going in that patchwork bit between Canadia and Mexico but I'm sure that it must be colonial and rebellious, lord only knows what you lot get up to out there in your furry hats with Hawkeye and the Mohicans. Probably planning a revolt against your lawful sovereign, well good luck with that!

oh and by the way who keeps renaming countries and places without warning? for years and years the capital of China was Peking, but now it's Beijjing or summat, never heard of it. Mumbai? where the hell's that? it was only last week that i found out that it was actually Bombay, and of course I have heard of that. My maps all show the island of Ceylon where the tea comes from at the bottom of India, but it's called Sri Lanka now. And as for these various Slovo whatevers in Eastern Europe, well i give up. I wasn't too sure about them before, now I haven't got a clue.

<sigh> it was all so easy once. everywhere interesting and useful always had "British" on the front and you got funny triangular stamps or sugar or bananas from there, all gone to the dogs now of course. Just think how much better off you colonial lot would be if we were still in charge! You wouldn't be getting up to the naughty things that you do get up to and you'd have the Royal Navy to look after you and make sure that you were paying the proper tax on your tea and keeping you out of trouble. You've had sixty odd years in charge and look at the mess you've made of it, we were top dog for ooohh ages and ages really! and everything ticked along quite nicely, thank you, well apart from Napoleon. And the Kaiser. And Hitler. Everything was better when it was British and the maps made sense.

  • ahh thats about 200 years, and you need to take your mexicans back ,getting tired of tacos and burrtoes on every corner, they have run my granny out from selling her meat pies :P

  • Well we figured that the freighter thing was a ruse and you parratroop them in

and isn't britian a smallessh island off the coast of euro

  • Taw was never really THAT good at flying, he even wrecked his last space ship. The Royal Navy confined him to a row boat for it too.

  • what he's not telling you is that was an accident and it was his fault for cutting me up in the trade lanes! rushing to get back to Planet Doonbock with a hold full of perishable skunk sweetbreads, just kept barging into the trade lane shoving all us patient well-behaved pilots out of the way. You know the type, all brake and go.
