:o i have found that is you strafe left and right with thrusters you will hit the enemy but the enemy cant quite hit you 
they do a little but it is not direct, combine that with a little reverse thrust occasionally and you will be good (grate for the nomad missions where there is a LOT :twisted: )

Well, I suggest joining the United Space Defense Force (Order plus house fleets and corsairs)

also if u go thru aseroid field adjust ur speed from full to half release a couple of mines just be mindful where ur mines are at all times or u could blow urself into oblivion lol most of the nomad or either enemy will hit alot of air or asteroids,a recepie for self destruction. strafing works really well while in a steroid field,be carefull not to hit the cruise engines or you'll bounce off the asteroids like in a pinball machine
