  • just my thoughts: 1. If you are gonna mod it anyway, make the clan a faction, so as to people can be neutral and trade with them and so on. 2. These Bases should have an upkeep, someone said something about a clan/corp fund.... the upkeep should be subtracked here... Bases dosnt run on spacedust you know =) This would make them willing to trade with neutrals, as the base would gain a certain % of sales (as someone else said).... only that would mean reworking the economy I think.... _BIG_ task =) .... also other new stuff..... or something... 3. If you go overboard, and design whole new systems, then fighters should be able to be bought at the base (AI fighters the patrol the system/base costly ofcause and with a limit, based on the base size... routes should be predetermined) 4. Let us say you make new systems/bases, the bases shouldnt be permanetly destroyed, but as someone said, spawn again (but broken and in needs of repairs) 5. Bases should be able to get taken over somehow... but not only in team battles. because that would lead to 1 or 2 corps/clans/factions taking over everything. 6. Rebalance the factions... police might be weak, but the navy/military factions should be stronger... ALOT stronger... as it is now, get friendly with (mainly) corsairs/outcasts and your biggest problem is radiation and nomads (oh yeah remake the nomads systems.... pink one with a base and battleships) 7. ups kinda turned into a wish list... hehe... anyways the whole thing is a good idea.

  • What about opeing up alaska system and sticking bases there or in the loacatins that dont have anybases like TAU systems if i ever get a server i planed on having a admin battle ship or base or even the lxuary liner maybe do some jousting bets just a thought

  • i dont really want the bases to be COMPLETELY destroyed... it would be more fun if you can use the wares to repair etc.. and if you capture a base, its just temporarly and the Clan that owns the base must pay a fee to get it back... so any modders intrested in our ideas? and it must be balanced and not like the current babylon server mod.. there you can get 871378124 million in 3 seconds... hehe... <img src=´http://w1.225.telia.com/~u2250…/thesite/AFTmilliways.gif ´> Have A Burger At Milliways.. ..   • but wouldnt this be harmful, when a clan gets _THE_ spot somewhere? you couldnt clean them out and you couldnt take it over..... it would create a serious balancing problem IMHO... otherwise, the bases should be in completly new systems that branched off the universe (alone), not smack down in the center of a important traderoute.... &quot;Keep it icy, man ..   • hold on a sec here... ok so this is my take on this subject 1: clans have to pay an extremely large sum of cash to construct a base anywhere on the map... police and other guys can completely destroy it and no respawns.. so it is the job of the clan to build a better stronger base (w/more funds etc...) 2: to take over a base... all original clan members must be witheld from entering a certain radius for X amount of time, otherwise rival clans have the right to blow it up (no duh) <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> 3: possibly a self destruct thing?? 4:if an alliance is made to take over a base / system / area... both clans can dock and the area is considered neutral between the controlling factions and appears hostile to enemy forces and friendly to allied forces... 5: the host clan can set some rules like no shooting within 4k of base... if you do this will happen to ya... (you get the message) 6: If all members of the controlling clan are absent then that base is considered neutral OR under the control of the AI and if the rules aren´t followed then the AI comes and busts you <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> and just as a side note... i really really really don´t think this will happen cause there has to be one universal server that can host hundreds of players (to really make this exciting) and a really powerfull comp. to proccess it all. then somehow everyone must register their clan and come online...and since there are SO MANY servers out there... finding it won´t be easy.... then there are programming issues stated above.   • yeah you are properly right =( but nice idea about the alliance thing.... if it would be a really hardcore mod, with alot of remaking, they would be factions, and they WOULD even with an alliance be hostile to each other, if they blow each other up too much &quot;Keep it icy, man ..
