  • Yes I will be adjusting the random mission income by quite a bit. I don´t think i wil get it all done tonight, I am having some problems with BS´s. ALso I found out recently that the liberty dreadnaught is suppose to be better then the rheinland battleship, so I will make it so. I will replace t with the original orisis that is in the cheap battleship mod. That is the order battleship and will fit well in the liberty spot. After looking at the CMP the dreadnaught is by far superior. I can fit more stuff on it than with the rheinland. here are the specs for the dreadnaught. - Liberty Dreadnaught - 30 Turrets - 13 Gun / Missile Slots - 7 Torpedos - 1 Cruise Missile - Mine - Contermeasure - Armor = 2,000,000 - Shield Batteries = 100 - Hull Batteries = 200 - Hold Size = 250 - Speed: 100 - Price: $15,000,000 I´ve also redone all the BS so you´ll need to check the readme after beta 3 release.   • Bob yes you can make one specific to a cruise missile. Ok here´s the scoop. Getting ready to release BETA 3, but here is something I am looking at doing. Until I add more systems I am running out of bases to sell stuff. Right now I can do EITHER cruisers OR gunboats. I have about 1 more place in each sector that can sell ships so it´s up to you guys. I have NOT used the pirate stations as I don´t think that would be fair...unless what do you think about the Order battleship being pirate only? I could get rid of the TIE fighters and that would make room for cruisers AND gunboats. Let me know what you guys want and I will do it. I´m tempted to ditch the TIE´s and go with the gunboats, but up to you all. Once I add more sectors I can sell more stuff. I could also ditch the Order battleship, but I kind of really like that. I have updated the readme so you can see what is going in BETA 3. Please read it all as alot has changed. Also I can´t make stations no dock otherwise it screwes up the main story line.   • Maybe you could relocate the bases that sell tie fighters to the bounty hunters bases. Since they aren´t pirates, that somewhat seems fair, unless you´re a pirate, then i guess you´d have a hard time getting a tie fighter. That´s my solution to it. Cause dont you have to go to some BH base to get the Hammerhead in regular FL? Just thought i´d drop that idea by.

  • Well the only problem is it has to be a base that already sells ships otherwise it doesnt work. I have just about used up all the bases that sell ships. I am not sure how to enable ship selling in a base either, but I´m sure that would take alot of work.   • Well i know one place for sure that sells ships, Freeport 9, my favorite station. Maybe make that a place where you can get super good fighters because it´s hard to get to.

  • please, keep the tie fighters <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> In original fl. there were bases selling only 1 ship, like friedstadt base or creta. There were also a lot of bases selling the same ship. ( or they are also full now ? ) Maybe those are good candidates for market expansion ?

  • LOL Imax, I owe ya one! I forgot about all the border worlds and stuff way out there. Well that does give me some more options now doesn´t it. I will start using those outer worlds, thanks again for reminding me about them LOL. I´m just about finished with BETA 3, need to test just a few more things.   • I haven´t tried out this mod yet but it seems interesting. And seemingly the mod you´re working on puts in some cool things i wanted to the normal game to have. I´ve been tring to read up on what is being put in and so fort, but there is just too much to keep track of. I always wanted to be able to use the gunboats, battleships, and the different frieghters i seen in the game. I know this is still a beta version but eventually when you get this all woked out(which it seems you will since you seem to update it every week or so) will you relocate the place where you can buy ships and the better eq? Like only have Liberty planets and stations sell liberty ships and only havea select few places that sell certian things. Like only have the liberty DN be sold on the major planets of liberty space. and have like the order battleship only sold on criminal home bases(example: baffalo or rochester). Kinda like how the game is now, where the better stuff are olny found in the more dangerous and hard to get to places.(fighting and reputation wise type places) i like the game as it is now in how you have to go to new territories to get better stuff and randomly fly through areas to get the &quot;project weapons&quot;. If you kept that same type of storyline it would be cool. i also noticed you took out most of the lower end ships, is it because you just didn´t think they don´t fit into your mod or you just don´t like them? i don´t know i have tons of thoughts about this stuff to increase playability time. just wondering. i´m no coder so i have no idea how hard this stuff is, sorry if i seems to be asking too much. plus i´ve never even tried out the mod so i have no idea how the playability is or the balance. i´m just reacting to what i can get from read up on this mod.   • I have tried the beta3 release on your server Reynen. I bought the Order BS. It looks cool but one thing is weird. For a ship that size it sure can strafe fast! I am not kidding. It strafes like a light fighter. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Just remember that it is possible to add shipdealers etc to bases, How bout utilising all those empty shipyards? That would be a nice logical place to buy a gunboat or a cruiser or a dreadnaught <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ( It´s possible, I did it to norfolk shipyard to sell the trains and the osiris...) - All we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream. -

  • Btw, just asking. What was the problem with docking regarding the difference of flight speeds of the ships? I know people were saying there were a bug about docking regarding the difference of speeds of different classes of ships but I am rather unclear on what were its effects.

  • 2 things: 1) I´ve noticed that some of the border worlds don´t sell anything at all, no nanos, shield bats, weapons, nothing.... can every world at least sell something, maybe the basics? I couldn´t find anyplace in the Cortez system to even buy a nano...also, it would be cool if each base sold something unique to its system...like certain weapons can only be bought in certain areas. In reg FL the Wyrms could only be bought up in the Omicron system...I would like to see something like this implemented if possible. More balanced towards pirates then to...as is now you have to come into 1 of the main 4 systems to buiy anything... 2) When attempting a mission targeting a station (any size) alone i have found that once i get within 4 km of the station it appears to start exploding without any torpedos/help from me. Possibly just a glitch with the station, don´t know. Also it only takes 4 sunslayer torpedos and 2 cannonball missles to completely destroy a large station. Do you think this seems right or should it be more difficult? Thanks, and keep it up...mod looks great!

  • From what I know adding a shipdealer to a station isn´t very hard, just have to modify the base file a bit. You can just rip off one of the shipdealers from another station and add it to, say, Fort Bush. I´ll try it out myself and get back to you. Right now I´m fiddling around with the Omicron Minor system. I´ve added a jumpgate to NY that allows you to get to Omicron Minor. From there there is a tradelane connecting the gate to planet Toledo. I´m trying to add Battleship Osiris as a base, but I ran into a little problem. I can see the ship on my map, I can select it, and dock with it, but the ship is invisible! All I can see are the weapons right now. Rey, if you need any help with adding systems I´ll be glad to see what I can do. Once I get Omicron Minor done I´ll be starting on a system of my own, maybe you can add that into your mod as one of the new systems.

  • I´ve been having difficulty installing your last 2 mod updates 2.0 and 2.03. I double click to install and it just opens FLMM but does not install. I have used WinRAR to manually extract them and copy them into a folder i created in mods and it has so far still worked fine. Just curious why it is not auto installing.. Has anyone else had this problem?

  • I´ve got my server up. To join, if ya can´t see it in freelancer, go into freelancer/exe and open fldirectip.hta and enter 68.32.110.121 in the ip address box and hit launch freelancer.   • I don´t know about anyone else, but I feel having Tie fighters is sorta weird, I mean if you want to put Ties in mind as well turn it into a Star Wars TC, which I think someone else is already doing. So I would stick with just the FreeLancer stuff, mod in new ships from other things later. I am very excited about flying the gunboats and other assualt ships. Speaking of ships any chance of putting some back in? In SP you progress from one ship to the next and higher up in class of weapons shields etc, I like being able to mount whatever I please with this mod. I´d like to be able to fly all the ships and not be stuck with a limited number that can only be purchased in few locations. Why the limit on weaponry? I can see why you would make shield damages the same all across but that defeats the need to purchase new weaponry when you enter a new hostile zone. I never had trouble in SP with the high damage on collisions, unless someone here had a problem I didn´t, so I would like to see that get reimplemented. The trade lane speed doesn´t uhhh feel like its 2500, I mean I haven´t timed it it just doesn´t seem any faster. I know the cruise speed is 450 but the readout still says 300 and other than having bits of converstaion flood over because I am flying at 900 I didn´t really have trouble with that. I would like to see varrying top cruise speeds for ships and varrying normal speeds for the different classes of fighters i.e. Kusari have the fastest overall and the Rheinland the slowest. Speaking of differences in house ship design mandates you need to give each Houses ships more identity, I don´t mean change the ship model I mean make them completely different flying styles. Why is the afterburner faster than Cruise and the Order version never runs out of juice. I don´t know; otherwise this is looking good hope to run the clan´s server with it.
