Question about save game editor and item codes...

    I am new to the freelancer modding thing...im confused on how to change things for MY ship ONLY, it seems the only way would be to change stuff in the saved game using the saved game editor but now I dont know how to change anything in there because there are item codes like the weapons in this link: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.lancersreactor.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1188">viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1188</a><!-- l -->


    I was going to add an unused shield system to the saved game but when I look through the game files there is NO codes that match anything in there except the ones in the above link...


    so any help would be appreciated!

    The saved game editor, edits your saved game files. It won't require starting over, but will let you pick up where you left off in the game, weps changed, ship, ect.
