Freelancer Sound Problems with Vista

    Hello,


    I was wondering if someone can help me out with a problem in the game Freelancer.


    When I want to play Single Player, some sounds, music and many dialogues are missing. Is there some way to play the game properly.
    I tried the official patch and I installed this Fraunhoffer codec (without uninstalling anything) but it doesn't resolve my issue. Disabling the 3D Sound didn't help either.


    I have Vista Home Premium Edition and some Realtek stuff. I'm not really a computer expert.


    I hope someone will be able to give me some advice or be able to solve this issue as I will be very grateful.

    Well I tried to find out if I can remove the codecs on my PC, I couldn't find any information about it whatsoever and installing the Fraunhoffer codecs didn't help either.

    Grab ye latest drivers From Realtek
    Reinstall FL..


    Beware.. some games like X2 will cripple FL sound (codec's agian)
    Kill that Fraunhoffer codec.. it causes more issues than its worth m8..


    I normaly install my Music/Video Apps first on a clean install.. but not everyone has Cubase and vegas lol..
    i find i don't need any codec packs after those two progys have worked there magic.. some free software is also
    just as good... Audacity comes to mind.. So does Any Vid Converter.. both exelent progys.. free, and come with
    the latest codecs packaged.
