Does anyone here actually like the Hammerhead?

yes. well uhm. I have flown it for a long time, until I got a bit tired of it and bought the Eagle. The fact that it couldn´t mount level 10 weapons was the main reason for me to change the ship.

I love the model for the ship, but like many other people, I couldn´t mount any lvl10 stuff on it which was pretty lame. So I simply changed the .ini file and now I can mount lvl10 weapons, shields, and any other lvl10 stuff. - nU77 .Corsair 4 Ever.

Hammerhead was pretty fun to fly...I would downgrade from my Eagle to it, but there are two things stopping me: My wads of class 10 guns that I still haven´t tested all of, and that cool red/black skin I downloaded that I´m still busy oogling at. The Hammerhead is extremely maneuverable. Too bad it doesn´t carry Nomad weapons or I´d have preferred it over the Eagle even with the skinnier armour and shield. ----------------------------------------------------------- War does not decide who is right, only who is left.

I really liked my Hammerhead. It seemed a well-balanced all-round ship. The only reason I traded it in for an Eagle was that I couldn´t use any of those level 10 weapons I´d kept finding all over the place. I really liked my Eagle too, but at some point in time I decided it wasn´t well enough armoured, and traded it in for a Titan. Titan hmmm ... tough as nails which is nice, but going from an Eagle to a Titan is a bit like getting out of a Ferrari &amp; into a bus so I traded my Titan in for a Sabre. Sabre hmmm ... from the reports here, I thought it would be much more manoeverable, but I can´t make out much difference between the Sabre &amp; the Titan, except the Sabre has less armour, and can carry less shield batteries. I think I liked the Eagle best of the 3 VHFs. Eagle - Light VHF. Titan - Heavy VHF. Sabre - Compromise between Eagle &amp; Titan with the advantages of neither &amp; the disadvantages of both.

Watch out for the wings..it kept beeing blown off,together with your expensive level 9... They should have dialogue like &quot;My wings!! My wings!! That bandit took of my wings! The &quot;big fish&quot; if probably one of my favourite ships to fly. It has very good turn speed and can take on anything except the 3 other VHFs easily. I like the Hammer Head (it my Favorit) but the lack of cl 10 wepons makes it nearly impossibel to get trough a cl 9 shield whit out beeng blasted by a rotating titan. The problem is the that engine kill alows a titan to turn 180 degrees while moving and give any other ship the full load. You cant avoid that by moving faster since all the ships speeds are equal. If you would &quot;ban&quot; engine kills or up the speeds of the Hammer a Titan vs Hammerhead match migh be equal.

IMHO, all the fights SHOULD be equal. The ship balancing is just unbelievably lopsided toward the 3 class 10 VHF´s. The lack of a class 10 LF, HF, or Freighter is also a little bit of a &quot;pinch-the-dev&quot; point. IMHO, at least one of each should be provided. Because let´s face it- some people are more comfortable in LF´s, some prefer the medium HF´s, and some prefer Freighters...VHF´s are not everyone´s cup of tea. As is, the game literally steers you to the 3 class 10 VHF´s, because there are no other alternatives. Nothing else has enough armor to live through the radiation in some systems(they couldn´t make a shield that deflects radiation better?) let alone combat, nor firepower to compete, nor the speed to make them a viable option on maneuverability. Radiation isn´t a huge problem with the Banshee... the problem is being swarmed by VHF when you pop out of a jumphole or getting PKed.

I did like it. It was the first fighter i took into the edge worlds. I thought it was great..´till I got jumped by a few sabres. I only play SP, but... It seems to me that if you got the bucks to blow on a Centurion or Hammerhead, why not stay in your Humpback a little longer and save up for a Eagle? It was just a couple more diamond runs for me. In retrospect, it *was* kinda funny, me running in Sigma-17 with a hoarde of corsairs Titans on my a$$. Just barely made planetfall on Kurile. Humpback wasted, I bought a Falcon and ran to Freeport9. I had gone in completely cold, didn´t know where anything was. Ship dealer on Freeport 9 musta thought I was nuts, trading in a brand-new Falcon with only one trip.
