If Stinger banned everyone we hated, Elite would be a ghost town.
WP/NEO war coming to an end.

Well, I did come to Calgary once, Elite was down, and I was bored, y´know? I seem to remember you (THE01) dock camping me at a spacestation in NewYork, while I was in a Patriot. If memory serves correctly, you had several thousand bots and bats, and you were also going through the trouble of cloaking and then killing me. Any server that mixes modded people with unmodded people, while having Player vs Player on, is in my opinion rather crappy. Elite is a pure server, modders are kicked and banned quickly, and that is why NEO plays there. If the admins decided to say "To hell with it", and let people mod all they wanted, you can be sure that NEO would move out. That´s about the only thing that would motivate us to get off Elite and move elsewhere, though. To everyone who is yelling for us to "Get off Elite and come to [whatever server!", just hush, we aren´t going to bother with you. NEO is a relatively small clan, as such we think it´s best to focus our activity on one server, rather than spreading our forces out accross various servers. And to those who think that the server admins work for us/are in our clan, let me tell you one thing... What Tasiin said is true, if we could ban everyone we didn´t like, Elite would be... Slightly less active than it is now.

This seems like a good time... War. A very strong word. The ramifications of war are long-lasting. People don´t just make treaties, just because politicians do. Not if a true war has been declared. The majority of what I have seen on servers is more of a brawl than a War. Like what goes on behind the bike sheds after school... If you´d like to co-ordinate something special, let me know. We´ll organise it properly. I am not talking about VHF battles in the borderworlds. I am talking variety, objectives, and scope.

Unfortinately the topic of this thread has shifted from "war" to "let´s flame NEO".
-
You are not one to talk, Slake. Your Raiders have been more interested in rapidly relocating themselves to safer positions whenever a NEO enters the system. I can only recall fighting one or two Raiders in my entire stay on Elite - that´s not a war, that´s pure, blatant, cowardice.

Taisin I think what my esteemed leader is trying to say is two-fold. 1) Semi-Organized battles with 5-10 per side with clear goals for victory are a great way to stomp on an enemy ego. I realize NEO may be to low-brow for something like this, but Slake likes to give ya guys the benefit of the doubt even when I am not so inclined. 2) The fact that we do not engage you does not make us cowards. Our interest in borderworld Eagle fights is truly not that high. Also we enjoy the frustration that is often apparent with our ´cowardice´ when 3-4 NEOs come after one of us and fail to make a kill. The fact is we are not a VHF power-clan. Our ´Raider´ VHF ships were created merely as a means of self defense. If you want to make war on us for defending ourselves, then you will do so on our terms or not at all. Get it? Have a Nice Day! <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

the game needs more "objectives" for clan wars, if the whole point of a battle is to kill the other guy...then as much as i hate him, epyon is right; how do you know when someone wins? clans should start organising a capture the flag game or a "defend the base" game...there are a number of ways to do this, and it´s much more fun than dock killing to infinity. i prob shouldnt say this because it will make some people mad, but this would be a great feature to add to an expansion pack <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> .

I always get a real kick out seeing the noobi modders posting "Come to calgary and say that!" lmao It´s funny, because they actually feel that modding is ´elite´ somehow, when it is plainly not. Let´s say a NEO decided to come to calgary and play their game. In order to play on a level playing field, he loads up invincible hull, some super-weaponry, a cloak mod etc. These mods were dead easy to put in, and it takes him about 30 seconds to gear up for a traditional modder´s stalemate. He might even have used a few braincells (something most calgary modders lack) and built his own mods, by spending an extra 30 minutes on them. End result is he flies around with the rest of them unable to kill anyone and they unable to kill him. Yay, stalemate! Unfortunately, everyone will just screenshot him and send in pictures saying "See? NEO cheats!". On the other hand, if a typical calgary modder wishes to come to Elite, they will face kicks and bans right left and center until they decide to play with the players rather than the admin, and drop the mods. At that point they jump in their starfliers and spend the average modder-forced-to-be-legit period of 3 and 1/2 months to get a fighter worthy of combat. Typically this will be a Titan, because they have never really flown in an honest duel, so they have no idea how much they suck. Ok, now once they finally get this fighter, they head off to Theta or Gamma, and get absolutely stomped by a random NEO in roughly .025 seconds. But never fear! For players of this calibre, it will only take them another 8 years (the time until adulthood) for them to develop the skills to have a passable chance vs a NEO pilot. With this kind of grueling schedule is it any wonder they prefer to whine safely from their weak calgary server? (At least there they can enjoy a stalemate) I don´t think so, don´t see why anyone else would.

Off-Topic but what is the NEO website? I´m just interested because you know, its nice to look at some of the more established clans websites. Thanks. On-Topic,, wasn´t this thread supposed to be a proclamation of cease-fire? Also, regarding Corwin, if you have the right to speak up and vent your views, then surely if NEO are facist, which from what i´ve read can honestly say that their far from it, then don´t they have the legal right to express themselves in whichever way they please also? Its a game that your playing over the internet, just enjoy it and leave the political and world views to the real world IMHO. JF_Crude Proud member of the Jade Falcons Alizao! I shall avenge you. if you are looking for sophistication, i would not personally suggest neo...their attitude reflects the quote "We support free speech as long it is grammatically correct and does not conflict with any of our views." however, the burnt hand teaches best, so here you are: http://neo.thenewfrontier.net i like tlr because if your point is relevant and thought out, you do have a chance of being supported by other members...such is not nessesarily the case in the neo forums, where free speech is feined and loosely upheld on fridays between 5 and 7pm, and the members tend to harrass you through your email, messanger(s), and in-game pms at every oppertunity. unfortunatly the neo forums are not a unique example of discourtesy...which is what makes forums like tlr so precious. if you are a bum that trolls forums, i doubt you will find many reasonable people in forums anywhere, but if you are nice and polite to other people here, they generally reply nicely and politely to you as well.

How does one contact an official rep of NEO? I have a proposition that might be interesting to NEO. Thanks. .............<BLANKSTARE>.............
