This happens to me too. After playing for a few hours, the game starts to slow down due to client-based lag. A good reboot will fix this easy. According to the theory of evolution, I should have died a LONG time ago.

hmm have u got the latest DX 9b You said the latest drivers but you didn´t say about this as it is the usual fix for most probs. Also do u have any other programs running in the background like Anti-Virus software as this can slow it down. --------------- X-Treme Admiral - Argonian Ryders <A href=´http://sasrecon.org/phpBB2´ Target=_Blank>Join the Argonian Ryders </a> --------------- <img src=´http://www.angelfire.com/space2/blueheaven/xtreme.jpg ´>

Hi thanks for the replys, but i dont think any of them apply. 1. the intermitant lag occurs straight away and not after a few hours, and im not playing online anyway, so a reboot dosenot fix anything. 2. Ive booted XP in the clean mode, with no background apps, so it cant be that. 3.the 2nd point at the top of the forum, applys to reducing audio acceleration levels, which i have already tried, along with video accleration levels, and it makes no difference 4. i have the latest device drivers fro all my hardware, and am running direct X9b, but it has made no difference thanks, but i cant find whats wrong with it, and i have no idea if it is faulty hardware or what, all the stress and iagnostic tests i run (eg 3d marks etc) seem to come up fine with no problems I have no hope left, and am swirling into the eternal abyss of despair

i had a similar problem on my 2.6 g p4 it was caused by a background prog. writing to hd i know you say there is nothing else running but could be worth double checking the other thought i have on the problem is do you know anyone woth a sound card you can borrow instead of your onboard sound as that could also be the issue and is worth trying a site that may be of use have a look here http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/supertweaks.htm for a list of tweaks that could help as well Edited by - [STEEL on 20-11-2003 13:35:19
