Sorry

  • I agree with this and I will do the same.

  • Good first step, Azza, Knife. Apologising is one of the hardest things to do for some people, but it shows sincerity that you have done so.

    :)

    What's going on?

He's apologizing for attacks on various Freelancer sites, servers, and communities.

  • Thank you Sion, that could have been done in a PM but thank you.

Congrats Azza, I know you're a good guy at heart. Now you just gotta act it lol. But we'll be here with ya all the way mate! 8-)

Can't believe I registered just to point this out...

But what exactly would be the point of a public apology unless you specifically admit what it is you're apologising about. He repeatedly hacked several freelancer sites/servers - is that not the real admission? He intentionally caused problems for many other communities simply because he felt like it.
Whats wrong with publicly including this in the apology, to actually account and admit what his actions were that caused the apology to come about?

As for the apology, makes anyone who says anything other than "congratulations, takes a big man etc etc" seem like a prat - but lets not lose sight of some core issues...

What, exactly, caused this "change of heart"? - what was the motivator? *edit* I do realise that the only avenue that you can express regret is an apology though - so fair do's. Just sad to say that for many I imagine the apology is taken with a healthy dose of salt through no-ones fault but your own, and TLR's with it's behaviour to this point towards other communities or viewpoints.

  • I've been out of the loop for 8 months, so what do I know? I thought I'd visit to put some flowers at the head of the TLR headstone, and found a whole new website..............feels different--people throwing stuff at each other, apologizing, getting hit back..... It's good to apologize, though. I don't remember many apologies on the old LR (mayitrestinpeace).

Don't tell Locke what he can't do.
    And remember always to regenerate!

  • Guys...

Let's let the apology rest as it is, shall we? It was not easy for the apologee.

    So just let it R.I.P.

Yes, dammit, apologising should be so damned easy!!

But a point for you... are apologies easier when you admit what you did wrong before apologising for it, or when you can just issue a blanket apology without having to own up to exactly what you did?

That "difficult" in my eyes is a cop out. A real apology has the testicular fortitude to own up to what they did wrong whilst therefore trying to set it right.

Your response, whilst well meaning, just reinforces this joke though:

Two council workers were walking down the road, and found a man lying in the gutter - bloody and dying.

"Oh my god, this is horrible, it's dreadful" cries one worker...
"Yes, it is" replied the other
"We must catch the man who did this...

    HE NEEDS HELP!"

  • I may not be a major contributor to TLR, but I have seen much of what goes on for several years -- I do believe that there may well be genuine restoration in progress here now and look forward to what can develop when all remain focused on the community's common goals. AzzA - can we safely rely on the preclusion of any future DOS etc? I have a feeling this is so. THX,

"A little excitement in an otherwise dull day..."

  • An apology... how sweet.
And why should anybody accept it after all the damage that the TLR staff has done to the LR community in the past months?
Why should we believe that this is not another of your numerous lies... just like the other lies that came from the TLR staff?

It doesnt surprise me that this apology came shortly before I handed these issiues over to my lawyer in order to initiate legal actions against TLR. That wont change my mind and it wont change the facts that TLR (the TLR admins and the TLR owner) has tried to damage other FL communities even with illegal methods.

The ppl which have broken the TLR rules most are the TLR admins.
Lies towards other communities, fake accounts here at TLR to hide your lies, insults, hacking other FL communities and many other "attacks"... even racist comments by the TLR owner.

I think i can speak for the others which got attacked by the TLR administration when i say that we are not interested in more lies, empty promisses and fast written words.
I told Azza and mental that they would pay if they attack these FL communities... and i keep my word.

  • I second the clean up OP. The posting of it intact is not appropriate. Mods, if it isn't cleaned up, you may need to do it. Hopefully Op will do the gentleman thing and do it.

  • i wont clean it up
because that stuff obviously was absolutly ok when it was said in first place and the TLR owner also didnt seem to have a problem with it as we can see (like many times before)
if the ppl here would know just half of the crap that was going on in the past months they would think much different about TLR... but i wont go deeper into this topic

the apology is not accepted and wont get accepted in future due to the untrustworthy behaviour of the past

  • Op, its obvious that you have problems with people here. So why do you do it? Why come here when you hate so many people? Why not just deal with the Swat site and leave this place in peace? Please, just walk away with a tiny bit of dignity....

  • the only ppl i have a problem with is the TLR administration based on all the damage that they have done to the other FL communities
if they have a problem with me being here then they can ban me again

  • Legal actions because of illegal activities would mean that lancersreactor get closed again without the chance to rebuild. The violation of laws would force the server host to cancel the contract emidiatly and there is the chance that if the legal actions against lancersreactor have success the admins are not allowed to continue this site or rent a new server.
I am not 100% sure which effect it will have on the domain itself.
Also the IRC chat would get closed without the possibility to host a new one as the terms of use have been violated.
I am sorry but that is what can happen based on what has been done. And you can not blame those which initiate such legal actions as it is their right and only a reaction on what has been done before.

It seems that the only way to stop this process is to get in touch with the sites which got attacked and hope that they are willing to find a better solution.

  • Thats not 100% correct knife.
He is my business partner and very much able to speak for hisself while i speak for myself. We share the same office but obviously not the same oppinion but thats life.
I can only assume that you took the time to compare IPs or something similar and need to tell you that everybody using our company network would have the same IP. If i am not totally wrong there are currently about 3000 ppl which are connected over that network with a proxy in hamburg. Im not an expert with this technic stuff but i believe they all would have the same IP then.

Im known to say what i have to say... and that wont change anytime soon. There was never a reason to use a different name for me and there wont be a reason in future.
