Wepons energy + cruise engine problem

  • Try getting the Upgrade Powerplants and/or Upgrade Engines. The Upgrade Engines are supposed to use 0 (no) energy, and the Upgrade Powerplants have significantly increased capacities. This powerdrain is common when you mount a powerplant with insufficient capacity (or more oftenly, one w/slow thrust and power regeneration rates) on a larger ship (i.e. putting a light fighter or Small Block into a heavy fighter/VHF/ freighter). Doing so will use weapon energy, and it does stink to disengage Cruise to have 1/4 or 1/3 of your weapon energy. So try out the Upgrade equipment; it may be a little expensive, but all of it is worth every credit!

  • yea well upgrade powerplants and whateva r really expensive for me atm, i am at ashcorft mish, and i keep running outta power and my cruise switches off, i have tried every powplant i can afford, i even used a medium block (and i in the patriot btw) and i cant stay in cruise no longer than 10 seconds, further more, when i reach ahscroft, i am outta power, and yet another downer! i realised that standard flying drains powerplant a lil, my wep bar will not recharge unless i am at a complete halt!!!!! so i got two choices, fly around and get shot at, or stop still and get shot at, oh and yes, my wep bar get so low, i cant even use cruise to get away to a safe ditance so i can recharge, man this mod used to be great, now its just crap, this mod used to be realistic so much for that If i were drunk, this´d be dangerous

If What I Can`t See Can`t Hurt Me... I`ll Run Into Batle Backwards

  • Well, no offense, but why did you buy a Patriot?? I know it´s manueverable, but, holy crap, its engines SUCK! They´re your problem, not your powerplant. Personally, I´ll take the less manuverable Starblazer any day But if you really want to keep the Patriot, try getting some Fusion Injectors; they add power to your weapoin bar. Whenever you´re fighting and your energy is low, try engine-kill; your engines gulp energy at just sublight speed also, so killing them allows you to continue moving in the direction you were going without using energy. Hit the thruster occassionally to change direction. And if you don´t want to do that, uh, I guess start a new game ..? I mean, these are my recommendations. I simply never touch the Patriot. And hte Ashcroft mission is the hardest mission in the mod, period. Get past it, and it should be smooth sailin´

  • DAMMIT PEOPLE!!!! What is your problem, can you not just read the previous posts! (this is not a flame) Look, don´t post one more thing until you read every post on this forum from atleast the last month! You just make yourself look stupid, and no one wants to look stupid do they?! This is for your own good, you must get over your newbness, laziness, and ignorance if you are to learn anything. Look first, then ask questions or make complaints. No need to start whining about things and asking stupid quesions that are already answered. This should be a rule around these boards, seriously. Its a waste of bandwith on the site server to say the same crap over and over! Just use your head for christ´s sake! Thank you! Chibi

  • If nothing else, get rid of the medium block. Those things recharge sloooooowwwwww. I used to have one and I would have to wait a long time between attacks during missions because I would run out of energy and have to wait forever. Try getting anything with a higher recharge rate and you should do better (If this has been changed in a newer version, tell me. I am over 300 miles away from my version of freelancer). If a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a hurricane, what do spammers cause?

A scratch? Your wing is off! "No it isn`t" "Then what`s that then?" "I`ve had worse"
