Prisoner of Azkaban

 • soz, i didn´t know you were talking about the virus following it around. wow. just finished book 5. i´ve been intending to read it for ages, but got stuck on school books - like "Stalin" by Isaac Deutscher. book 5 is kinda okay. she´s going downhill. there´s too much ´harry is kickass´ and ´harry is going thru puberty´, and not enough ´harry is lost and doesn´t know what´s going on´. the first 3 books were prob. just too good.

 • What a load of crap ! That article is nothing but a critic´s opinion, and a rather poorly written one if I may say so. " Drug Use", and "Reincarnation" are the main themes of the book ?I would have never realised the DUMBLEDORE is the symbol of "suicide" and "Reincarnation", until this (Sarcasm) Enlightened (/Sarcasm) Critic brought theses views to the front stage. I (personally) feel sorry for the critic who wrote this article , as he apperantly has no life whatsoever, and always looks at life with a pessimistic viewpoint, not letting himself see how life itself is meant to be enjoyed, and there is only a limited in life to do it. I´m not a die-hard Harry Potter fan, but I do enjoy the books (to read occasionally) when there is nothing else to read at home. My advice to the reviewer : Stop reading between the lines and melding it into whatever sick ideas you make of it. Get a life ....... Edited by - Neo_Kuja on 6/6/2004 1:45:43 AM

 • I do believe that James, the guy that wrote the article, meant it sarcastically. However, I must confer that I agree with you. I know these guys. They are a little lacking in the social department. Check out their website : http://www.serility.com it will bring a new meaning into the definition of sadness. they´re all anime freaks....

 • cookie I wasn´t referring to the virus, I was talkin bout the thing your friend wrote, while maybe not correct in everything he says, HP has a much greater impact and influence on society than most ppl realise and it´s not a good influence

 • Indeed. The article is clearly tongue-in-cheek, and is not bad actually. One other thing that I should mention is that there are a number of references in the texts that are not aimed at a child audience. There are puns, references to English society, and even satire, which you will notice if you look for them. HP is ok, but the trick is to remain apathetic; don´t get involved in the hysteria .

 • sorry must rant begin* But Its just a FRIGGIN story. Gonna burn em next? jeez lighten up it is just as popular to bash harry potter than it is to like em. So dont think y´all are on some literary or moral high horse because YOU or group of YOU´s dont like em. Your just as trendy as we who love the books.* end People died for your freedoms so you can sit and whine years later about how they didn´t do anything for you. BAH! what a bunch of insolent selfish puppies. Extremely Irate of Those who are ignorant.

 • Your right sw, he, potter, is not a good influince or role model. But folks will argue it to death. I put him in the sam catigory(sp) as beivus and butthead on mtv. The good models are hard to find.

 • Final And parents Should keep their kids away from them if they feel that those things are bad for them. unfortunatley most dont (my self I do not belive harry potter is bad but I can see where people would and with validity) Almost OT coming up <img src

 • I would have to agree that HP is not the best role-model, mainly because he is rewarded consistently, even though he breakes the rules on a regular basis. Still, bear in mind that the novels in question are escapist literature, and were written purely for entertainment, so if HP DID obey the rules all the time, it would make for a rather dull read .

Heinrich von Potsdam and the Prisoner of Landsberg

<font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2>That was great Taw .

 • i have just seen HP3, all in all, its not bad, though the film kinda skips so many parts dat its kinda hard to understand it if u havent read da book. i like Troy n The Day After Tomorrow better cant wait to see Shrek 2

 • I went to see The Day After The Day After Tomorrow - the ice melted and the tramp had to clean everything up. the 2nd sequel will be called The Day Before The Weekend After The Day After Tomorrow. rather looking forward to LOTR 4 - as sponsored by Orange mobile phones - "The Lord of the Ringtones" (genius that was, pure genius..) ..everyone suffers in silence with burdens, the man who drives minicabs down in Old Compton; the Asian man, with his love-hate affair with this racist lying town..

 • I went and saw the movie last night. I liked it. It´s been a while since I read the books so I didn´t notice anything taken out. The only thing that spoiled it for me was some stupid chick a couple of rows back who kept talking. Stuff like, "wow, he´s really powerful", "oh look at that tree again", a bunch of stupid stuff. It was getting old fast, finally my wife turned around and yelled, "shut up!" pretty loud and the chick got quiet. I have mixed emotions because yelling for someone to shut up is almost as annoying to the other people in the theatre than the person talking. When the movie was over I said really loud, "that was pretty good, except for the commentary!" Maybe the girl had autism or something where it wasn´t really her fault she was so obnoxious, if that´s the case then maybe she should sit in the back. Is it too much to ask that after you shell out fifteen bucks you can sit and watch the movie in peace and quiet. I don´t go to as many movies as I used to before I was married. $7.50 is not that big a deal but $15 is pretty steep, especially when I can have a little patience and buy the DVD for $19.99 and watch it over and over in my little home theatre which isn´t too shabby. Let´s get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!
