  • Asynchronous Esquilax...... That´s kind of catchy. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_clown.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> &quot;Wilkomen, bien venue, welcome......&quot; Edited by - Indy11 on 10/13/2004 7:34:52 PM

  • Oh man, another one lost from our dwindling modem community. I guess I can´t help but say that I envy you, Esqy.

  • Don´t worry FD, you´re not the only one. I´ve got 56k as well simply for the fact that broadband is too much for us poor young flatters<img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>.... <img src=smilies/icon_smile_disapprove.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>Oh well fine Esqy, join the dark side. We all know you´ll miss that sound when you dial up <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • Thanks guys, it´s good to be modern <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Final - Don´t worry, I´ll stil support you <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Indy - &quot;Asynchronous Esquilax&quot;? Well it´s better than &quot;Esquilaxative&quot; *glares at ff* <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Red - I already miss the handshake *sigh*.

  • Congrats Esq. I´ll be joining you (and leaving FD and redstar, obviously) in about two months, hopefully. Right now there´s just no point for me to get a high-speed connection considering that my computer is a 300 Mhz POS. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • Bugger ! No more Modem jokes ! <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> And since Final is now a mod .... *grumble*,*grumble* Anyway ,Welcome to the bright side of the internet Esq ! Watch your bandwidth closely, it´s all you´ll get (unless you´re using a service which cuts your service down to 56k levels when you exceed it, in which case I envy you <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>). You will love all the hackers trying to break through your firewall 24/7 ...... ! What service are you using by the way ? P.S. I don´t know what the difference between Ginger beer and Ginger Ale is, what is it ?

  • Now you can download porn all the more faster Esq! Yes, we know you watch it you filthy bugger. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • CODE - Well if *I* can join the &quot;digital revolution&quot;, then anyone can <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Neo - I´m using a company called <A href=´http://www.swiftdsl.com.au´ Target=_Blank>Swift</a>. I investigated them last year, and they merged with a publically listed company. That´s a good thing <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. As for bandwidth, I have 16GB/month, and each GB after that is only $9. Nice and cheap. As for hackers, I unplug my modem when I´m not using it (no &quot;Off&quot; button <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>), and I have two firewalls; ZA and an in-built SPI firewall with NAT. Take that hackers! Mustang - *Shakes head* You never give up do you? <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> I have more important things to look up. Eg. <A href=´http://www.seek.com.au´ Target=_Blank>this</a> <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. dr - Lamentably no, I´m still unemployed. I have however, been saving up in expectation of this day <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Taw - There´s nothing wrong with bare ankles. Fortunately, I wasn´t raised within the strict confines of Tawalkalnistan <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>.

  • all i can say is about bloody time, do you know how many times we´ve had to listen to you complaining about your crappy modem<img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> no offence final<img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle><img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • @Esqy, My service applies a monthly charge, no use limitation. You´ve probably explained this before in some ancient grave diggable thread but..... How does your service tariff work with that usage penalty?

  • you know, final you may benefit to sticking to 56k the company that my uncle got 56k dial up from stopped using it, and they upgraded him to Cable speed and he still gets to pay the same price he paid for 56k

    [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/master_wolf/TechSig03.png]

  • That would be nice, but not betting on it yet. $14.95 a month unlimited use is worth a little slowness. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • Indy - All I know is that if, by some miracle, I exceed 16GB in a month, I am charged for the excess ($9/GB ) at the end of the month along with my monthly fee. I would have preferred to pay for six months in one lump sum, but what can you do? Final - I miss my modem already *sniff*. Edited by - esquilax on 10/14/2004 6:59:27 PM

  • <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Esq I never expected this from you leaving us modem users alone, I´m never speaking to you again <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Fd dont worry your not alone, I´m still on 56k for I dont know how long, at least you have a fast con at work <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>
