An Idea forum/thread/poll for ideas for TLR

Neo, Ok, I can see your point, but what else can they do? If they just leave the site like it is now, it will die. Do you have any suggestions? I dont think anyone can really know if this change will work or not, we´ll just have to wait and see

Upgrade to a newer type of forum, like Invision or PHPBB forum. Better security, stable, constantly improved. (Both are free, AFAIK)

I hope this isn´t considered gravedigging. Anyway, I´d second Shodan´s suggestion to move to another forum software, since that could make our lives easier with features like: - better search capabilities - bookmarks for threads - ignoring certain users (spam) - enhanced profiles - avatars with moderator-defined sizes, for the sig enthusiasts Edited by - LXP on 2/23/2005 3:52:15 PM

It will look different and it will have a lot more functions, I´m not sure exactly what, Bp or Eraser will be able to tell you that, what I do know is that it will include pm´s and maybe avatars, I think there is a thread about the new forums in this forum, if you display topics from more days you should see it

I dont mean to sound whiney or anything but are you upgrading the entire site or just the forums and if the site, is it possible for the firefox problem with the main page to be fixed?

Well, the forum will still take a long time, we decided which code to use a while ago, but this code(dot net nuke) is still very new, which means everyone who will be involved in the re-coding of the site has to leanr it from scratch, so it will still take a while before we can show you anything. Occasionally you post news items with a picture and text scrolling down it (&quot;inside&quot; the picture). While these do look cool, it gets annoying if you´re actually trying to read the information because it scrolls incredibly slow and there´s no way to speed it up!
