I can see that one of my locals has it from there stock levels on their website, whether they are selling it I don´t know. Might go check now, brb. EDIT: Yeah they´ve got em all right, but they´re not selling till tomorrow morning. Even my best chinese burn and nipple cripple wouldn´t convince them otherwise. It seems like something about Radiation...

It´s here! I have it! I am unable to play it! Damn this unholy day of workitude and it´s imposing stance against my gaming pleasure! Got the collectors addition, it comes in an enormous box which you think´d be full to the brim but nope. One t-shirt, one manual and one, yep that´s right one, dvd. All three games HL Source, HL2 and CS Source are stored on the one dvd. Very suprising though is the manual, it´s one of those really detailed colour jobbie´s that haven´t been seen since the 90´s. Still I have to wait to get home from work to see how it runs on my nVidia powered beast........I think I might be coming down with something....cough cough.....

I´m still waiting for the damn thing to run in "Offiline" mode. It takes AGES, but the HDD is chugging along so it is doing *something*. Now do you see why I hate PA? *Grumble*

aww poor eskie, console your self with this screenshot ***SPOILER ALERT*** Alyx and Eli Edited by - Wizard on 11/17/2004 3:03:33 PM

All I got with my normal edition was a quick referance card
@ff: damn you! -
Actually, I nearly up to that bit (I believe). I´m about to travel to "Nova Propekt" for various reasons *hint*. I need to figure out how to flip the damn buggy though!
-
...I hate to say this, but ive clocked it already. I wont give away the ending, but its 10x more unsatisfying than HL1. *QUOTE/SPOILER* "Come on Gordon, we dont have *boom*" "Time, mister Freeman?" not to say that its short, its to say ive got too much time on my hands. I have to say there are two things i absolutely love about HL-2. Physics The Gravity Gun. circular saws were never so much fun... -Love Shark @Musty: have you had trouble with HL:Source? i cant get mine to work... @Esky: its called the gravity gun. just like windows, point and click Edited by - Love Shark on 11/17/2004 7:57:38 PM

Haven´t tried it yet Shark, I really only got to spend half an hour with HL2 before I had to go out. I´ll try to load it up when I get home tonight and get back to you. EDIT: Worked fine, doesn´t look that much different but they have made a couple of nice changes. Definately better than the original. Edited by - Mustang on 11/18/2004 12:23:15 AM

eskie, you mean to say you´ve been ignoring the gravity gun? shame on thee...
-
Actually people, I *have* been using the G-Gun, however evey time I used it on the buggy, the game crashed. Luckily it sorted itself out, and now I´m in the middle of some urban combat . While I´m here, let me ask you guys a question; why the hell doesn´t my collector´s edition boxed set have a bloody manual? Is it too much to ask for a glossy manual? I can´t even find a PDF on the CD. So, am I suposed to have one? The only booklet I have is the "Prima" guide . Finally, how well does it run for you? I´m running it with maximum detail, on 1280x960, and with 4x AA and 8x AF. It runs really well when I OC my graphics card, but it´s a little ****y when I don´t OC.
-
eskie, are those settings what hl2 set itself to? for the manual you can get one from steam, you need a .pdf reader.
-
ff - Download the manual off Steam? *Shakes head* Idiots. As for the settings, it stated that my "optimal" settings were "High" on everything, "Reflect World", no AA or AF, and a res. of 1042x768. Edited by - esquilax on 11/19/2004 3:39:04 AM

maybe you should lower them, maybe it´ll chug less
-
The game is perfectly playable with the aforementioned settings, even with a three striders on the screen at the same time. I wish I could prove it . Of course, the game crashes occasionally, most likely due to my overclocked graphics card getting too hot, but it is worth it .
