Man is it just me or HL2 the most painful game in history to install? I literally spent two hours getting everything in a state where it was ready to play. Granted once you´ve got it running, it runs like a dream but bloody hell, the amount of red tape you have to cut through to get it installed and verified....what a pain in the arse!!

It´s a good game, but it is bloody short. Was it worth the money? Maybe. HLS is a little disappointing though. Why didn´t they add the updated models, etc? That´s just lazy in my opinion. No sooner said than done <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. Basically, you connect Steam via the internet and then &quot;Exit&quot; the program. As long as you haven´t logged off, the information should still be stored on your PC and, when Windows restarts, you should be offered the option of starting Steam in the &quot;offline&quot; mode. Supposedly, that´s all the you need to do, however I recall that there was a useful thread on the Steam forums for people who had problems with this method, and I can dig up a link for you if the above method does not work.

Unfortunately, I cannot find that other thread because the Steam admins have disabled the search function *shakes head in disgust*.
