What´s up with hair?

 • ...well there is the certain tendency for hair to trap odour

 • Some women like bald men (or so they say). Of course the problem with a topic like this is that there are only three females on TLR by my count, so it is difficult for us to acquire a large enough sample for any definitive conclusions to be made in regards to female hair preferences. Just thought I´d mention it . Edited by - esquilax on 11/28/2004 5:40:04 PM

 • *calls mental hospital* Yes, he is a member of TLR. No, I don´t think he´s done this before. Okay, you´ll get him at nine? Sounds fine. *hangs up*. Back on topic: I don´t care about hair. My hair is about medium in length, so I´m not in either end of the spectrum, but I will probably end up bald, as is the family curse. Otherwise, everything is double-standardized. Eating especially, people who overeat aren´t like by society at large, but society also looks down on the anorexics. Education also, to an extent. Lots of people don´t like the people at the top of the class (like me, alone at the top), but nobody likes a person who fails all of his classes with flying colors. It´s actually all an opinion, but that´s just my opinion.

 • I wasn´t so much asking about preferences as much as I was asking about why hair is seen as good on the head, and bad on the body. Yes hair can trap odor, but you can wash *Runs from men wearing white suits*

 • I don´t mind whatever hair´s on people´s head. Bald, short or long. Although I prefer shorter. A bald or shaved head actually looks pretty good sometimes. I also prefer little to no body hair, but once again it´s not a biggie for me. It´s just nicer when it´s smooth. I think people just like bodies to be smooth rather than coarse and rough. • the commercials and cartoons seem to depict women being attracted to men with lots of body hair. cause they smell? really interesting actually.

 • I think it has a lot to do with ensuring that men and women are different. Since men generally are the ones who go bald, baldness is associated with being a man (ergo it´s not good for a woman). As to why it´s bad for guys, well...it just doesn´t look very good a lot of the time. Of course, somethimes it looks good, some guys are "sexy" precisely because they are bald (usually they embrace their baldness and go completely smooth). Finally, the question of body hair can be looked at two ways if you´re a girl and really only one if you´re a guy. Most guys like (relatively) hairless girls - except for on their heads, of course; we do for two reasons, one is that guys are naturally hairy so girls shouldn´t be, the other is that hairlessness is a sign of youthfulness and it seems to be the natural tendency to go for "nubile" females (as opposed to "old and busted" ones). Girls, on the other hand, are split as far as I know. Some like hairy guys others like hairless guys. Those who like hairy guys like them becuase they´re manly, almost animal and may be attracted to the charateristics that go along with the stereotype. Girls who prefer hairless guys do so becuase they seem cleaner, less "vulgar" (for lack of a better word) and more sensitive. Let me stress that all I have said about how women think should not be taken as gospel. I´m simply basing it on the various opinions expressed by the women and girls I know. It may or may not reflect the overall female population - especially considering that such considerations of physical beauty are very much societally based.

 • I´ve always thought that hair is important, mainly because I possess a finely brushed and maintained coiffure. Remember to use organic sulphate-free products people, and lather, rinse and repeat; always repeat. What´s everybody looking at me like that for?

 • hair is not an issue...i mean don´t get me wrong i am not a fan of "blondes" by any nature but hair is just hair...my hair right now is to my lower back (yeah i know too long for a man but i have this guitar player thing goin here ) but i am not afraid to go bald cause hair does not make me who i am I will still rock as hard as i do now just without my hair in my face and the extra 30mins in the shower,,,(damn i want to go bald now ) "To live is to die....but living is to die slowly..why waste time on trivial things just play as hard as you can"

 • hmm hair.... preferences differ from person to person...I think some guys look nice with long hair, others dont... S for hair on other parts off the body...well I think thats maily a society thing...its "right" for women to be without body hai...because the general opinion say so...in a few years I think the same will be tre for men....as that is becomming quite common.

 • hey Sylver! are you sure it´s just a hair versus body thing? a guy with hairy chest is often seen as macho but a guy with hairy shoulders is gross! am i wrong as for myself i have a theory. most guys i went to school with that were shaving at the age of 12 were bald by their early twenties. attempting not to make myself look aincient i did´nt start shaving until my very late teens and even into my something past twenties i can still go two days without shaving. QED you are given an allocation of hair to do you for life. guys whos hair grows thicker and quicker run out of hair sooner. at this rate i´ll still have hair well after i´ve lost my teeth, sight, bladder control, and any amount of worthwhile testosterone levels.

 • lol...that gives for good arguments...esp with guys you don´t want anything to do with

 • I don´t care about tendencies, but I´m not gonna do any shaving and peeling on my legs and arms. People must like me as I am or go to heck. Women with hairy legs and armpits, of course, aren´t that attractive As for hair on the head, I don´t care much. For women, it depends on the shape of the face - for some long hair just doesn´t fit, and vice versa. As for guys, long or medium hair looks OK, shaved head - OK if he´s a skinhead, otherwise - no, and baldness - well, that just makes the forehead look higher, hence higher intelligence Life is only given once ... and most often by accident
