New Tool - Freelancer System Editor v0.3 *UPDATED*

 • REALLY? SWEET! This is great! now i can just send you my source code and you can plop it into your project. Just give me credit . I´m making progress on the program, so far i´ve gotten the basic interface down. Its not that hard, whats going to be hard is supplying the user with useful editing tools EDIT: Oh hey, that also means i dont have to supply an icon! *hallelujah song* _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem > Edited by - Blackhole0 on 1/30/2005 4:03:57 PM

 • I found some bugs: If you click on an object (base, planet, etc.) the X and Y coordinates are there... but there are no X: or Y: (X: 61238 instead of 61238) If you move the mouse over the objects ... the coordinates wont be shown. I think there is a bug in the fog color. Sometimes the object behavior and object reputation wont be saved correctly. And at last ... the object X coordinate is not in the middle of the object width. Please sort them out. Edited by - STFX on 2/1/2005 11:31:56 AM

 • Whoopie! i just got something to work! (specifically, i got it so that it can open up to 11 bases at a time, i could make it more, but who would want to open 11 bases?) now its on to the file reading..... i´ll have a beta out by saterday! (if i´m lucky) _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem >

 • btw....... does your system editor read in all the system INI files that EXIST? or just the normal ones? you should enable it to read all of them that EXIST... (hint: use the data in the UNIVERSE.INI to figure out which systems to open) _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem >

 • This is Getting Better and Better, By the time you hit v.1.0 it´s prolly x20 better than FLE whoa, Can´t wait for v.0.3 Okay, I can, it´s just hard.

 • Blackhole0: Of course ill give credit where credit is due. And btw, your program should load the bases that are in "missions/mBases.ini" and there are 196 or so. (guess ur working on system base files.. well i could do the mbases.ini but its gonna take a couple of days, lots of info in there.. so let me know whats going on) and also, check ur emails SFTX: thx for those bugs, im doing my best to fix em all. Things coming up in 0.3 : - Planets/Stars Generator (including zones) - Ellipsoid zones - System nebula properties - Space costume heads list - 3 object size values - Zoom (navmap scale 0.1 to 3.0) - Moving around the system - Tooltip Text added for objects/lights/zones - zone fog color - zone property flags helper - object colors - object/light/zone coordinates on the screen - object behavior/reputation - Adding Systems (to universe.ini) - Adding Bases (to universe.ini)

 • I found another bug: If you save your System and if the .ini file is readonly ... the new .ini file wont be saved. Test this: Load the Li02 system into the FLSE. Don´t change anything and save it. Then start FL and fly to the Tahoe cloud in the Li02 system ... ... if you are in the cloud, you will see that the fog color is not white. Another thing which I would appreciate is that the FLSE supports Xp-Style. And I have a question: How long do you program VB6? I program for one year and I would not be able to program such a great tool. Edited by - STFX on 2/1/2005 12:04:07 PM

 • Its normal you cant overwrite read-only files.. just make them archives instead im guessing ur trying to save over original FL files, I dont recommend that ) Ill check what the problem is with the fog color and fix it. And i´ve been doing VB for quite a while (started with VB4 so u can imagine, im not young anymore ) Also what do you mean by XP-Style ?? • stupid program issues..... expect a delay on my program.... gaaah if only i could get past these few things i could release an alpha with version 0.3 of psy´s editor. _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem >

 •

Its normal you cant overwrite read-only files ...

<font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> I know ... but there is no error message that the new file will not be saved. The best thing you could do is to save a file even it is readonly. By Xp-Style I mean that your program supports buttons with the new Windows Xp-Style. Here is an example image. And I found another bug: If you change the planets to this names... planet_ice_blue_2000 planet_ice_blue_2500 planet_ice_purple_1500 planet_ice_purple_200 ... FLSE wont change the size on the screen. Edited by - STFX on 2/2/2005 7:27:59 AM

 • Thanks STFX! Fixed/Added : - Read-Only files - Some planet sizes - XP Style components - mBase Editor (40% complete, sorry Blackhole0 hehe) At the rate im going, 0.3 should be available friday or saturday.

 • wow, this editor is great, but one question... this is probably a noob question but how do I put the edited systems into freelancer? where do I put the .ini files? I know it is noobish but please answer

 • you basterd! give me a chance to get mine out! gaaaah.... well i´ll finish mine ANYWAY and if i have to i´ll put a shotgun to your head in order for you to include it with your next version (0.4) _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem >

 • put the system INI (and its bases and rooms) in its own folder (named the system´s name) along with the bases and rooms (in their respective folders) in the SYSTEM folder. all done. just make sure you´ve got an entry for the system in the UNIVERSE.INI file. _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem >

 • Psy is almost ready to release 0.3, and i´m nearing an ALPHA for my base editing program. Updates are coming! EDIT: ahhhhh.... My and Psy got in a "disagreement" over who was working hard, so needless to say, i not exactly sure if theres going to be a base editor with 3.0 Whoops...... _________________________________________________ when your computer screen suddenly has "virus = very yes" spread across it, i think you´ve got a problem > Edited by - Blackhole0 on 2/4/2005 11:19:44 AM

 • v0.3 is now availalble (top of the thread). more things added : - mBase Editor (completed, except the fixtures that needs some work) - Base Exporter/Editor (basic) hmm somethings seems to be malfunctioning seeing the system preview in the news post.. you might need to get this font if u dont have it : Wingdings 3 <img src=´http://pages.infinit.net/psycad/freelance_coder_white.gif ´> Edited by - PsyCadelik on 2/4/2005 7:18:08 PM

 • I say, looks like you made the it to Zoom anyways Nice Job. I think I already said this, but: When you reach v1.0 This program is probably the sytem editor of choice. Been a bit lazy lately, not much modding atm, don´t think I will dl till I have something to use it for. (making systems for example)
