Do you mean SLedit or SLtool? I use SLtool to add or change hardpoints and/or primary weapons. If you are using SLtool, you have to change both .shp files for the same fighter. Example: there´s jap_shroud.shp and t_shroud.shp. Both have to have the same stats in SLtool for any changes to work. Also, if they´re both not changed, the program usually crashes at some point. (I used the shroud because I just modified that, haven´t changed the Wolverine in SLtool so I´m not sure of the file names. I would be some derivation of "german_wolverine.shp" and "t_wolverine.shp"<img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Again, if you just want to change speed, shields etc, SLEdit is much more suited, and easier, for that. And, you don´t have to change each version of the .shp file. If you´re having problems w/ SLedit and the stats changes, post again so we can help. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> "You Can´t Fight in Here, This is The War Room!" No its defintely SLTool cos i put it in my SL dir and just ran it, it came up with a spreadsheet sort of thing and you could alter the ships speeds etc, i havent tried SLEdit im not that brave. Think ill finish game first without cheating with that SLEdit thing, i was only trying to make my fav ship bit faster!!

I think your talking about the stats editor not sltool?? Edited by - razar on 10/13/00 4:26:17 PM

I think so too. Just doesn´t sound like you´re describing SLtool. In that, you have to browse to the SLships directory and open one ship at a time, then I don´t believe there is an option for changing ship´s values, ie speed, shield strength, etc. I highly recommend SLedit for what you want to do. It´s amazingly easy to use, just point and click really. It will only change the stats you want to change, and you can disable all changes if you want to go back to all original settings. You can simply speed up the Wolverine without changing anything else with SLedit. Read through some of the threads on this forum for tips and how to install, etc. Quickly, 1st download SLedit 2.0, then also download the 2.12 update (both are beta). Install 2.0, then unzip the 2.12 and let winzip replace the .exe when promted. The 2.12 update is not the full program so that´s why you need v2.0 first. Told you it was easy <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Now try downloading some of the other ships. You can just about replace the whole fleet. "You Can´t Fight in Here, This is The War Room!"

HELP!!! Ive loaded in that whitestar B5 ship cos im a B5 fan and given it to the rest of the fleet!! But now the game jumps back to the desktop everytime i try to fly mission 20 which is the one im on now!!!

Cut back a bit on the # of ships you swapped. What´s happened is that you´ve changed the stats of all the alliance fighters causing crashing in certain cases. The AI of the game gets confused and the game gives up. It´s not so much that number of ships changed but the amount of stats changing. The Whitestar (one of my favorites too <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ) updates it´s own stats when swapped. Some ships do, some use the default setting. Anyway, try changing just one or two ships to the Whitestar and see if it works. Then, experiment with other ships available on this site. The ships without stats included will show the default settings. Of what I remember, its 300kps, 16 shield rating, 10 recharge, 12 armour, 100 afterburner fuel, 100 gun energy, 1000 ammo. (I´m amazed I remember that, don´t ask about pitch and yaw settings). Let us know what happens. When I "overedit" I´m usually rewarded with a crash too. Wasn´t mission 20 the one that required everyone to fly the Shroud? If so, it could be that cloaking isn´t enabled on the Whitestar and the game crashes because it can´t find a ship with cloaking ability. -- If I missile throw a Havoc at ya.
