bret,this never was funny,nor a joke,it wass serious.Its gone so bad .....In all my time here ive never seen this CRAP! Im talking about our "deleting fairy" who hasnt spoken,I know someone stepped up but id doubt such an honest person would do it.

YouÂ´re wrong I didnÂ´t admit to deleting anything... What I did say was Eraser does not have to take the blame all by himself. We both equally responsible. I have never deleted or locked a post... Fact is I cant think of anything IÂ´ve done to offend anyone...

People, calm for a second, bp, Wilde. The forums are a host to a broad range of people. Many want this changed. Many want that changed. I, myself, am fine with everything; IÂ´m not easily offended. I cannot remember when I was last offended to be truthful. But there are many who are easily offended and they donÂ´t / shouldnÂ´t happen to deal with any of it. But many of you insist that they should just deal with it and remit to your ideals of what a forum should be. If we all respected everyones individual likes / needs we wouldnÂ´t need mods. Even though noone will read this, I would just want everyone to try, try , seeing this through someone elseÂ´s eye, someone with opposite opinions of yours. One of quite a few things that makes these forums good. The variety of opinions. But noone cares. Noone cares about what I am about to post, because you are all going to continue on about wanting all censors removed and want the mods hit the "Anything Goes" button. ________________________ Watch the head humpers Gordon! There is a quite simple reason why TLR has to face this kind of quarrel again: The content and structure of this GREAT site attracts a lot of educated and intelligent people (more more than less <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ). Modding on such a high level is neither for Kiddies nor for dumb***s. Intelligent and litterate people have opinions - and they like to discuss with other intelligent people, sometimes they even like to Â´fightÂ´ with their arguments - just think of what Cambridge students are taught. The chance to meet intelligent discussions and interesting topics on TLR is higher than on most other forums. ThatÂ´s why intelligent people stay here - or come back (hi taw btw). Now: Moderators are intelligent people too and have therefore opinions. Because they have opinions their standard to judge whether a topic is offensive, political, religious (...) is depending on their OWN moral, political, religious standards. ThatÂ´s why threads are locked if there is only a very small Â´smellÂ´ of "leftism" in it. It is obvious IMO that most of the Moderators have a more conservative background. Of course this IS their personal right and they do not have to defend themselves for that. But they should be aware of their own opinion when mixing their task as Moderator with their contribution to a discussion. And this happens here sometimes. As a "liberal" I had to accept here on TLR that some posts or signatures keep untouched - even if they have strong political or religious content. They stayed untouched because they were close enough to (TLR-Moderators-) mainstream. I once even asked for closing a thread because of strong and offending religious content (I feel p*** off when JC is praised as Â´our lordÂ´ - my problem). But this was ignored because Moderators participated in the debate and because JC our Lord is mainstream here (and there too <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ). ThatÂ´s why myself I took the decision not to participate anymore in (most interesting) debates here because sooner or later one of the Moderators considers it as Â´offensiveÂ´ to some virtual average-TLR-visitors. Now this is a question of the Chicken-or-egg-first?-type, but interesting enough: I have seen more flaming about closed threads than flaming because of offensive content. If you are dizzy - what usually happens? Try spinning around fast several times, and see what occurs. Do you get dizzy, and do you lose your balance slightly? I could tell you WHY you lose your balance exactly......if this was to be Â´educationalÂ´. So you lose your balance, and you stumble or fall. You hit your head........ Now if you fell face first you would most likely also include your mouth, along with nose, cheekbones and forehead. Does it seem entirely possible that was what was being said? Now does your posts seem more than a little misplaced, and simply put - wrong? There is no threat there at all. How on earth you managed to find one I do not know. Resulting to personal insults when you are not even aware of whom you are talking about, or exactly what they are going through in life etc. For all you know Keiths mom could have just died, or his wife be in hospital - and yet he is not only coping with that, but also trying to keep this from getting over the top. Complaints registered, if action will be taken, then it will be taken. Getting so low and dirty isnÂ´t going to change a damned thing, and having people dragging this out in the most personalised way possible is also not going to help. No doubt you still think your post has justification, but personally I would like to see that retracted. Yes I am aware that worse has happened between others, but since when do two wrongs make it okay? Since when does using someone elses experience justify yourself to cast aside any politeness or reasonability to deal whatever insult you see fit, without any care as to what the recipient feels? I personally think that the post signifies a whole series of events. You mis-read a post, or interpet it in any way you wish to, and then make a catestrophic post insulting someone as much as possible, with the single intent of causing hurt. Whats next? If you think whatever may have passed between others and any staff member justifies YOUR action, then it means there is justification AGAINST you too................ I am not saying that is going to/will happen at all - it wonÂ´t, but if this is what we are dealing with here, when will it end? If we are dealing with people who are willing to escalate any situation into being Â´on topÂ´ - what can we expect? Is someone going to hack the site next, to delete things out of spite or hatred? *shakes head* Its a sorry state, and although there maybe things that annoy or antagonise - its in no way an excuse for behaviour of this type either. I donÂ´t know what Keith is editing from posts, but I trust his judgement - as I do know him quite well, and I trust that it has been rightly censored as an un-necessary attack for no other means than to cause hurt or friction.
