• You´d want the car without the weapons? Bah! Just think--no more idiot jaywalkers cutting in front of your car, no retards turning left in the wrong lane...Every man, woman, and drunk teenager unfit to drive would be incinerated in the fatal burnination that would be dealt by your vehicle´s arsenal! Whee. On the subject of the movie itself, I´m going to see it sometime next week. It looks really good. Edited by - Wilde on 6/30/2005 12:04:23 AM

 • I think it was awesome. The best of all 5 movies! (no bat-nippled batsuit this time ). And Bale is the best Batman of all. I was at first scheptical about the Batmobile, it looked rugged instead of sleek, but it was okay actually.

 • FF what I ment by real is a production car, lol I should have said that in the first place,as for the best of the five Keaton is still the best, he gave the caracter a insane angle that was cool. And also since Pittsburgh has become a adapted hometown to me I am a bit biased there lol, Keaton came from Pittsburgh,

 • batman begins is better than the previous batman films keaton was too crap, too eighties, to depressed. He never really had the fire of batman, he wasnt insane enough. Burton focused is attention on the villains. They got more than their fair share of screen time because thats the kind of director burton is. As such, it kind of stuck for shumacer as well. They all just assume we know batman enough to just go straight into looking at the baddies. Batman is as dark and as unhinged as the badguys he beats up on. Since the mid eighties, the driving force behind the stories was that he was only a hairline away from becoming the obsessed maniacs he was fighting. The previous films also implied that wayne wanted release from batman, that it was a job he got tired of, that he didnt want to do. Begins really shows that this is just bull**** and that personal luxuries like being a playboy and keeping up the wayne appearances, that was all alfreds idea and wayne didnt really want anything to with it. I loved how they resolved the love plot. While i would have preferred there not to have been one, i thought it was dealt with sensibly and really highlighted how much different bruce has become since his parents death and his self-imposed exile. Batman;s line when he says that Gordon will never have to say thank you just thrilled me to bits. here´s a guy who freely gave up his life and any future hapiness in order to save people the misery that crime can create. His life ended the day his parents died, now he´s protecting everyone elses. It´s really honorable and also disturbing at how far Batman as a character is willing to go. What stands out as possibly the finest piece of batman footage ever was his interrogation of the crooked cop upside down in a rainy backalley. Every single line "DO I LOOK LIKE A COP!" "SWEAR TO ME!" just goes to show the utter hatred that is coursing through his veins and the closeness he is to just killing everyone. Batman´s strength in the comicbook is fear. for 20 years he´s been a terror in the night, something that literally hunts the criminals of the city. He becomes a reputation, he becomes an icon. Finally the movies have caught up with who this man is. The Kaiser Soze of the comic book world. Listening to the goons talk to each other about the hearsay of who batman really is, is really electrifying, better yet seeing him through the eyes of someone halucinating from Scarecrow´s toxic gas is unmatchable. Black blood from the mouth, glowing eyes. How in gods name this film was only rated at a 12 is anyone´s guess, but i found this film re-assuringly creepy, frightning and exactly right. Sure the batmobile is great, the gadgets are cool, but the best of the film is watching the horror movie turned on its head and watching thugs and goons picked off in split second attacks from the monster in the dark. Here instead of being terrified of the demon slaughtering the nubile teenagers from oh-so-many "scream" rip offs, we´er seeing a man who´s lost a fair bit of reality, dressed as a bat taking out guards silently and amazingly in a way Sam Fisher would wet his pants to do. This film is brilliant, i can only find a handful of flaws and theyre analy retentive flaws that make absolutely **** all difference to your enjoyment of the movie. I just wished the sequel was made and i could just keep watching. I didnt look at my watch once and would gladly have sat through 2 more hours of crime fighting. -arc

 • Arcon that has to be the best review I have ever heard for anything . I too hope a sequel is made in the same way. And the points you make show how this one shines over the rest. Yea I still think that the first one is a litle bit better, it was not as realistic as this one and nowere as grim as this one was, and that is some of the reasons why batman begins is by far bettter then the first batman, but I have always liked Burton´s off kilter style and the first batman was very light harted but at the same time alittle grim, so that is why I like the first one a little bit better.
