Has anyone else noticed...

  • Cruise disruptors have field radius. If the CD hits the CM and the disruption field hits you, you still get disrupted. I´d say Adv CM is 50% - 70% effective against cruise disruptors fired at least 1km from you. If it´s any closer, your CM might not be able to get away from your ship far enough to clear the disruption field.

  • Contermeasures ALSO have a field radies that they disrupt from. so if the missile is fired from further away then the blocking radius of the CM, it wont work. one thing i never tried, however, is whether or not a single CM will disrupt mutiple incoming missiles. like you deploy 2 CMS to disable about 8 incoming missiles. do the CMs work in a 1:1 ratio or can a CM attract more than one missile?

  • I can´t figure this thing out...3 mission Rhinelands...you approach them the game freezes and nothing. you sit there with no action. you attack mission over. you sit there do nothing and admire the stars...anyone have any ideas?

  • Yes. One CM can distract multiple missiles as long as the CM is released *after* the missiles locked on you. And for torpedoes, if it´s more than 1km away, you might as well dodge it by yourself. Don´t ram a torpedo because it hurts.

  • Yah, I know. I keep getting hit by some bounty hunter´s cruise disruptors, but counter measures don´t work all the time, so have to kill the hammerheads, or whatever else shoots me. Oh and how is it whenever I shoot a cruise disruptor, the enemies can dodge it. "This is no mere ranger! This is Ayragorn, Son of Ayrathorn, and owe him your allegiance!

  • Oh, who knows how to take down a Rheinland or Nomad Battleship without getting hurt (Much)? The thing with the kraut ships is that running along the side is a &quot;board&quot;, so if you fly ship in there, And stick yourself in between the hull and that brace, NPC´s can´t shoot you very well. (I haven´t tested it in MP yet.) And with the Nomads, they have 3 claws sticking out and you just fly in there and, protected by the claw (Think &quot;Umbrella&quot<img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> blow it to bits. I just LOVE seeing Nomads fried in the morning (Or any time of day, for that matter!)! &quot; This is no mere ranger! This is Ayragorn, Son of Ayrathorn, and owe him your allegiance!

  • I gave up using CM after a while... I discovered that the moment you hear the missile warning it is best to change direction and press afterburner for a while. The problem is that Cruise Disruptors somehow manage to hit you. However, you are usually out of weapons range when they do. I only use CM against security forces for that reason.

  • The thing you have to remember with cuise disrupters is that they have a 50m detonation radius; the thing can miss you, but still hit you. I´ve never found countermeasures to be particularly effective. They need to be restocked, they don´t always work, and it´s so much easier to go evasive for awile. - Even a blind pig finds an acorn every once in awhile.
