Well, I think it should be that Orellian didnt expect the coalition to come in liberty since the coalition is never mentioned in FL storyline.
Freelancer 2 what do you think the chances of it Happening are?

What I reckon is that if they can´t make Freelancer 2 they should make a release a Expansion for Freelancer 1 with a new storyline and a larger universe and new ships

FACT: Freelancer is several years old now. FACT: There have been FAR FAR more Xbox releases than PC releases from Microsoft of late. FACT: They are bringing out a new console, thus will be busy developing for that. FACT: They want money, and if you compare FL sales (whilst impressive I´m sure, considering of how well it went down with the public and all the games mags) to something like Halo 2 sales, then you´ll be found wanting. Personally, I´ve given up on a FL2 and am an X addict now. Feedback from the Developers and other Company workers, signed scripts/mods, patches to fix problems, etc, etc. Plus a new sequel coming out soon. Despite the fact I´d LOVE FL2 to be made, I can´t see it happening. Guess I´ll stick with looking forward to X3:Reunion rather than waiting for FL2...

er...i think most of arent expecting fl2 to come from an actual company. we(or i if noone agrees with me) are hoping that maybe a group of very experienced modders can get together through MSNM, AIM or something and co-make a super big mod to act as fl2. and maybe the people who cant mod can do as much as possible to make the leaders work easier.

I´m with that - maybe all these modders like myself who are working on their projects alone could combine their efforts(which would be much easier if they were working with XML)and employ all the new exploits like dynamic asteroid fields, orbits, escorts, exe mods, unused features, etc to make a truly new game - still it could not encompass missions i think, although that would depend on the teams sum experience.i´d be glad to pool my efforts with others if it meant a bigger, more exciting, more expansive mod, and maybe this is the most important reason, more populated.more mods = less server population, fewer mods = more, with some exception for variety - some mods are just too different from FL to be considered for an unofficial FL2 and have their own unique audiences Edited by - Cold_Void on 10/6/2005 8:59:49 PM

To be realistic, I think the best option would be to try and make a freelancer 2 mod, and aim it at the multiplayer part. Screw SP even though its SO fun to play IMO. Doing the multiplayer part mod could incorperate fraction base missions like JumpGate have. Where people need to ex. transfer certain amounts of goods into a new station to complete the building of it, and when finished it becomes a part of the FL universe. This would also make people work togheter and if controlled by the Mods they could make some sort of multiplayer story line. Just a thought. Btw. I have asked some people on a game developing forum/site about the chances of getting MS to make a sequal. And like so many here have already pointed out, they told me the chances would be small, since alot is about economy. And maybe if like 20.000 people would sign up saying they would bye a sequal they could get theire attention. Why not ask MS to set up a poll on theire public site asking people if they would bye a sequel? They would be able to evaluate the posibility themself. And if we are able to spread the word amongst other gaming sites then it might happen. Ofcause the chances are small if any that MS will do a sequel. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Also regarding buying the right, they told me on the other board that it would probaly cost millions and millions of $ to bye the rights. Have anyone asked MS if its possible?
