Do we really need a language censor here?

  • <font size=1 face="trebuchet ms"><BLOCKQUOTE><hr size=1 noshade>This is the perfect example of a word that *was* considered as swearing less than 50 years ago, yet is now generally accepted. Being a rounder more comfortable sounding word made it easier to become widespread imo....yet the meaning stays the same. <hr size=1 noshade></BLOCKQUOTE></font><font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> My understanding of that term, when I was much younger at least, would have given me a mental image of something not rounder but slimey and stringy. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> And as a result, such term never would have come to mind as anything particularly offensive... except maybe to girls and teachers were one to, er, present the item for show.
