New Forum Structure

  • As decided at the TLR meeting last sunday we will introduce a new forum structure this weekend.
This has become neccessary with including the old TLR databases into the new Forum based on the previous TLR version.
Right now we have a mix of 2 Forum structures that we are going merge into a completely new structure.

The big advantage of doing so is that we will get a Forum at TLR that is sort by priority. We keep important topics such as tutorials, news and running discussion on top of the forum while older topics, such as old support questions, old feedbacks and old outdated discussions are being moved into a lower priority area (The Lancersreactor Vault) where they are going to be stored.

All members will still have access to this Vault area and inside it we also keep a pre-set structure so nothing is getting removed from the forum. We just set priorities on existing topics and move them (based on that priority) to the different areas of the forum.
Using the search of this site and using search engines will still direct you to these low priority topics if your key words match and of course you can freely browse the Vault area.

The different forums will also get detailed descriptions so users know where to put their posts in.
Threads of support forums can be marked as "done" by the thread starter or the moderators.
For several Forums such as the support forums an automatic prune feature will be enabled. Threads older than 90 days are getting moved from the high priority part of the forum to the Vault. (if a support question has not been answered after 90 days it probably never gets answered)
Some of the Forums will get Thread prefixes that should be used by the thread starters.
Such prefixes might be "Help wanted:" or "Offer:" or "Request:"

Mod creators can use our Mod Database to present their work aswell as our Freelancer Community Forum.

The changes we have in mind will for sure not happen from one moment to the other... it takes much time to re-organize such a big forum. Please be patient with us.
