Does anybody here know what effects should I apply on a voice to add it a radio communication noise? I'm using Music Editor Free, is there a better freeware program?

Hey Polar,
I did a bit of digging around for ya, and I came up with this vst plugin;
Free VST Lo-Fi Tool : Spaceman by MB-PlugIns
(click windows logo to download)
I dunno if your sound editor can run VSTs, but either way I recommend using Audacity. Remember to download the beta (1.3) in order to use that particular vst plugin.
I had a bit of a play around, I dunno if it's exactly what you're looking for, but I do recommend playing around some yourself to make sure.
Good luck!

Thanks a lot Bob!
I put the DLL in the program's "Plug-Ins" directory. Where do I find it when using the program?
-
theres usualy an add effect button e.g. cakewalks add effect button is on the track toolbar. select the VST. next time you play your recording it should have added the effect.
-
Well, its not working here, but I just remembered I found this kind of effect in Music Editor Free once. Now I just need to remember it.
Thanks for the bother guys. If I won't find it, I'd still like to know the currect answer to my last question.

Under the 'Effects' menu.
You'll need to have some (or all) of the recorded voice selected for it to become usable, however.

If each wav is one word, phrase or whatever, then do it one at a time.
Cool thing about Audacity is you can set up the effect once, and as long as you don't use another effect or exit, the same settings will be loaded in the effect and you can hit the 'repeat effect' button to load it instantly. -
Sounds pretty good!
Are you sure the Plug-Ins folder is the right one? "Spaceman" just doesn't appear in the effect list...
-
You need to copy the spaceman.dll and the folder into the plugins directory, and make sure you're using Audacity 1.3.
It comes up in Audacity as 'Synthedit SynthEdit - Build VST synth and effect plugins » SynthEdit Spaceman V1' or something along those lines.
-
Nope, its not there...

Attached is my plugins folder, extract it to the folder 'Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)', where your Plug Ins folder should already be.

Still not there... but thanks for trying!
