Making the player start from a higher level.

In order to make a new storyline, I want the player to start from level 30 to have the possibility to choose a good ship to fly with between the missions.
I know one way to do it with FLMM 1.44, but I want it to be usable with FLMM 1.31 too.

What I'm asking for is some way to make the player start from any level (not nescesarily 30) when starting a new game.

I tried that. Nope, it works only if you delete the Restart.fl file in the savegames folder. Any way arround it?

Nope, newplayer.fl doesn't work... Are you sure theres no alternative way? not even something in Common.dll?

yes, it is. But when you're in "Storyline mode" your rank is based on the missions, and its hardcoded in Common.dll. Thats why I asked if theres something in the Common.dll, because old OpenSP mods modify some offsets in it.

About the ship's level: its defined in the base's entry.

Yes, you're missing the level ballance of the SP. If I buy a ship and I'm level 1, I can't buy weapons that match the ship's weapon class because of the level restriction.

I can still try one more thing, but I really doubt it will work. I'll come back with results as soon as I can.

Interesting... Do you know how RankDiff works? I mean, whats the meaning of the 0.1 in rank_diff = FreeTime_01_02, 0.1?

Oh well, seems like I'll have to break the level ballance in FL, unless I start the new missions after the original ones (which is not souch a bad idea actually), but I will risk agonized players.

Forget what I just said, I'll just disable the level limit of ship purchasing in SP, its way easier!

The weapon's level requirement is set in weapon_equip.ini in the "toughness" entry, right?
