My best 2 suggestions are either this: http://www.lanparty.com/ or check out the local college campuses and such. I know the colleges around here often post things about large LAN parties. ----- Xornicon Altair WebMaster: GeekOrgy.com

First rule of a LAN party: BRING LOTS OF CAFFINE! God only knows, no, even he doesn´t know, how long you´re gonna be sitting infront of that computer for. You never know when a challenger will appear and you must be alert at all times. Second Rule: Don´t take your eyes off your computer. If you´re running NT, make sure to lock your console before you leave the computer. Your "friends" around you will stop at nothing to give themselves an advantage. Third Rule: Someone´s computer will ALWAYS break down. Make sure you come prepared with a *****driver and a flashlight. Some knowledge of WTF you´re doing usually helps as well. Fourth Rule: Bring your own games. Many people will not share their games simply because of the Pirating laws. I am one of these people. Fifth and Final Rule: Have fun. Don´t get pissed off because you keep dying. You´re the newbie and you must recognize that everyone is gunning for you as such. Not getting pissed off because of this and simply having fun will show them that you are not a llama and you are indeed one of them. Suggestions: Camping is not cool; In RTS games, try to actively participate rather than "turtling up", aka building lots of defenses but no offenses; killing someone with a pistol when they have a big mofo of a machine gun DOES give you bragging rights and you are permitted to bring this up any time you wish with with the sole perpose in mind of humiliating them; no matter what anyone tells you, bragging rights ARE a part of the experience (see previous rule); you are the master of your computer, don´t let anyone remove you from your keyboard without asking, anyone who does so may be threatened with a severe beating, and then if they persist, they may be beaten. Now remember, those are simply suggestions, you don´t have to follow them, but it´s usually a good idea to do so. Enjoy!!! ----- Xornicon Altair WebMaster: GeekOrgy.com

I´ve been to a few LAN parties. Actually, I´ve been doing them since before they were LANs. I remember playing Doom and Warcraft 2 over a serial cable at my friend´s house. And I didn´t take my whole computer at that point. I took my sound card, video card, and my harddrive. He already had another computer there that was missing those component. Oh, as a note: Nettworking under DOS was a PAIN IN THE A$$!!! (I was doing this before Win95 exsisted) If you wanna do a LAN party, lemme know. I´ll play StarCraft, Half-Life, CounterStrike, or Quake 3 (if you´ll let me use your CD to install it and you can find a way around the CD Key, I don´t have my own copy of it). You know how to get ahold of me. ----- Xornicon Altair WebMaster: GeekOrgy.com

Yeah, LOL. I know what you mean by networking in DOS. Pain in the ass indeed. --------------------- If I wanted smoke blown up my ass, I´d be at home with a pack of cigarettes and a short length of hose.

DOS had networking...?!?!? Best Regards Christian "Bargib" Koerner Editor in Chief, The Lancers Reactor

Oh, and I *MIGHT* be convinced into play Starlancer as well. Though I wasn´t all that impressed by the game, it is possible that I´ll do a co-op game of it. I won´t do a deathmatch though, that had to be one of the dumbest game modes! ----- Xornicon Altair WebMaster: GeekOrgy.com
