Arc the difference between getting into the RAF and getting to fly is quite a distance appart. the RAF wont let you fly unless u have natural 20 20 vision, no contacts, no glasses, no laser eye surgery. courdse u can join up if u have less than perfect vision, you´ll just have to work as ground crew or some other job that doent really have much to do with flying. the Navy Fleet Air Arm and Army Air Core are the same as well. i was really into becomming a pilot when i was younger, but my vision is border line (i dont need glasses for reading from a board. but have trouble distinguishing objects at great distances without them) and with my dad being in the forces finding out this stuff was quite easy. (you can get all the medical criteria from the career´s office). So now im happy to learn how to maintain aircraft avionics etc... (got a work experience placement at the airport next month playing with Jumbo´s <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ) and i eventually want to jouin the navy as an aircraft technician. (the RAF is SOO blase <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ) plus my dad met a lot of navy pilots in the falklands who just &quot;seemed more stylish&quot;. and recently i saw 4 harriers fly backwards in a diamond formation across the airfield at akrotiri, just to show off to the RAF red arrows. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> now that was cool. wish i lived on that airfield actually. beats the barracks here. hmm i seem to have ranted on a bit. ill shut up now....

actually im not all that big. i can just run like a ****er and dont feel pain to much. i play fly half in union. and i dont play leauge regularly so when i do im not tied to a position. yup us brits are meant to use metric, and are being brought up on it. but also ther imperial system is still a force to be reckoned with, meaning i do weights in g and Kg, lenghts on cm and m but i still only understand peoples weights in stones, and people´s heights in feet and inches. very wierd. --------------------- --------------------- If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down?
