Wow, Microsoft give up code? http://research.microsoft.com/research/allegiance/ Brings tears to my eyes (in the good way). Real Allegiance development can finally take off. ---------------------------------------- No matter how big a problem seems, there would always be hope, as long as someone keeps trying.

Well, to tell you the truth, it is basically a PC. (even more so than xbox, with the Embedded Windows XP) Though if that was out right now, it would have the fastest CPU clockspeed-wise of any console right now. The DeltaChrome is about a mid-tier graphics card. They went straight DirectX9 like ATI, so I´m guessing it will be similar to ATI moreso than Nvidia´s current FX. ---------------------------------------- No matter how big a problem seems, there would always be hope, as long as someone keeps trying.

Well, technically, Linux isn´t just plastered as ´Freeware´, it´s just open-source. That´s what we have variants of it, like we see with RedHat (that has a pay version). ---------------------------------------- No matter how big a problem seems, there would always be hope, as long as someone keeps trying.

A very strategic game it is. It´s a marvel to see two knowledgeable teams fight it out for hours upon hours though. ---------------------------------------- No matter how big a problem seems, there would always be hope, as long as someone keeps trying.

Heh, school sucked me totally in until this semester.

More update, it´s not magic, but seems to display things slightly faster (which is good seeing as how my S3 ProSavageDDR is incredibly bad for displaying application graphics) ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

You probably won´t see much difference I don´t think, my computer has a history of underperforming. ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

I wonder if I will live to the day when computers can perfectly mimic a person´s voice (man will phones become obsolete if that happens... or it will need a secure mode). ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

Though the question is always there, if it was possible to just order the cd only, how much less would it cost minus all the packaging. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

Anyhow I went and tried that thing of yours, and if I wasn´t hallucinating I believe you gain money when you buy things... so go spend ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

Heh, I thought it was just an isolated case when I bypassed it. Though I was pretty near a jump gate.

After some discussion on ship type, I decided to (edit)take the Very Heavy Class Titan in the race, and won the second time through. I do have to say it looked like the other guy was ahead the whole time, and then "magically" disappeared near the end. So I don´t know if this is a random occurrence or what.

Nice work <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Hmm... that is a bit different method with the registry edit ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

Well it was just a mild suggestion, but I suspect unless someone is really of malicious intent, wouldn´t they learn their lesson after the first (couple) times (of course, that is assuming people have enough intelligence to consume the higher level of this game, and not just kill everything in sight despite having an unfair advantage). Though I´m not quite wary of how things would work here as they do in other areas, but users of "trainers" usually are not that "advanced," if at all, than others. Also, if there was a way to monitor statistics, such as seeing someone with a level of 38 and 2 minutes, this could be of great use. ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net Edited by - VikingThunder on 03-03-2003 01:52:34

Are you at the point where you are suppose to go to Alaska, or are you just exploring? ---------------------------------------- "Fight until you can fight no more" http://www.azuretek.net http://www.tekwarrior.net

Perhaps when they said game code, maybe they meant the actual files that define everything with the server files overruling. From what I´ve seen, it seems to still be memory editting.

They definitely need to code a Linux flavor of the server (that is, as long as it supports 64bit). A Quad-Opteron would be quite useful in this arena, but not totally necessary (as 64bit windows is a ways off).
