Starlancer has 2 Rendering modes (for the graphics): software (for older (=very old)) video cards, and Hardware, for well nowadays you could say normal cards. As long as you set it to use your DX-compatible graphicshardware, it should be no problem.

.3ds is in fact a pretty common file-format. This is actually the first time i heard of a program that doesn´t support it. you might be able to convert your modell with external programs (like deep exploration) into 3ds format, though no guarantee if it works.. Oh, and you might want to consider changing to a different 3d-app if you´re going to make more game-models. "Blender" is, as far as i understand it, a pretty good freeware program. (btw, .3ds isn´t the 3ds max file-format. .3ds is i think from the old dos 3D Studio, and MAX doesn´t handle it differently than exporting to dxf or other formats) Edited by - RubberEagle on 3/3/2005 3:52:45 AM

My SL Editing skills are a bit rusty, but i think that the later versions of the 3ds2sl.dll was able to create transparent textures. Try downloading the latest version. I think it should come with a readme that explains what you have to do..

Well, about the 2 graphics, it seems that Warthog sent LucasArts a techdemo to get a contract to make a new space sim. And BSG, well, the did continue to make the BSG Game for the X-Box <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Extracting textures: they are in the tcachehw file. I can´t remember exactly how to extract it, but I think there was an option in SLEdit...

Unfortunately, BlindFire isn´t saved in the Ship files. Currently the only way to have a custom ship have BlindFire is to switch it with one of the original ships that has it.

parabolix, Actually Deviant knows how to mod the game. It´s just not possible to edit missions without a mission editor, as they are precompiled... Short history of the SL-Mission Editor: Originally Paul Hughes from Warthogh worked on one for the community, but he never was able to finish it. Then, a year or two ago, Blackwolf from the Macross TC mentioned that he was working on one, but since then he unfortunatly vanished...

You bought FL in late 2000? you should have brought it to DA, would have spared the rest of us the wait ´til spring 2003 <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Yeah, GAG´s textures are incredible, and always have been... now if i only had a fraction of his talent, i wouldn´t have to stick to making versions of ships from TV shows / movies and could start doing some original ships <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

I´m still here a few times each week, though mostly just reading news etc.. GAG´s still doing models for a few mods. Just stumbled over him in another forum last week <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> and his talent is still amazing...(<A href=´http://www.sperlingretail.com/astralprime/hornet_wallpaper_1024.jpg´ Target=_Blank>one of his creations</a>) The B5 mod: yeah, we´re still working on it, though i´ve stepped down from my position as head modeller/designer due to not enough spare time or energy to work as much on it as i´d like to. Though i just now realize how much i allready did for it, as i´m putting my models up for the other teammembers to grab. Aside from the mod, the last mod(el) i released was the <A href=´http://members.chello.at/rubbereagle/viper_light2.jpg´ Target=_Blank>Colonial Viper</a> from the original Battlestar Galactica last year... (though i have been working on other ships, like the cylon raider, the galactica herself, or the <A href=´http://members.chello.at/rubbereagle/test_05.jpg´ Target=_Blank>new Viper</a>) And other &quot;old names&quot;: Mad Dog, who was also a major contributor to the modding scene back in the SL days. He also seems to have crossed the event horizon of a black hole <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> or HCl.. damn, we should make a TLR oldies reunion party or something <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Edited by - RubberEagle on 8/24/2004 3:21:13 AM

Torpedoes are mission-scripted, so you can´t only fly a bomber with torpedoes in the missions that have you flying a bomber...
