Yep, that would the Port, one of the projects at HLP - the biggest FS site on the net, and coincidentally the site that I run (more or less) Engage Brain, Then Post. Hard Light Productions

From the remaing four series, Freespace & X-BTF seem to have less followers. I checked out Descent-Freespace, but the Freespace community seems to be all but dead

<font face=´trebuchet ms, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica´ size=2> On the contrary, Freespace2 has the most active modding community out of any space sim. Descent-Freespace is dead, but the FS community is not. If you want to find the FS community, you have to go here: http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums

And how much does that honestly make sense? Why not have the Liberty fighters be expensive, even though they´re available in the opening area? Military stuff should be among the best equipment out there, period, no matter how close it is to your starting location. Or only make them available after you´ve done a certain number of story missions/have progressed far enough. Just like the other high end craft.

In other news, it´s coming out at a bad time, both because MOO3 will be out at the same time as well as the fact that I have field trips, essays and projects to do. I´ll hold off on further commentary until I play the full game and not the demo. Engage Brain, Then Post. Hard Light Productions

To drive this offtopic in a single post, I think some of the rabid fanbois here need to throttle down and realize that not everyone here is going to find Freelancer the be-all end-all of space sims, and that not everyone coming here is going to be gushing over with effuvescent praise. Anyone who dares to voice flaws gets (in most threads) shouted down because they´re not appreciating it, haven´t spent enough time exploring the ass end of nowhere, the real game is in the multiplay, etc etc ad nauseum. Great way to get the community going. Do you want visitors who at least remotely resemble the gaming public - which includes those who love the game and those who have problems with it, or you do want a small group of blinkered nutbars who scream "LOVE FREELANCER OR DIE!" at every new arrival? I know which I´d rather visit. And so far, some of the members here are doing a damn good job of pushing it towards the latter. Rant off. Hmmm, all kinds of fun Culture/Cultureesque names come to mind..... Loose Cannon Heavy Messing Difference Of Opinion All The Rage Badly Thought Out The Best Offense Unstoppable II Irregular Apocalypse Hot War Size Matters Not Hmm, how´s that? Engage Brain, Then Post. Hard Light Productions

The thing was, MAx was asking if he could submit a model of the SDF-1, which is already done (to death). If he did something that fit with the robotech/macross style that would be perfectly fine.

If the Lunar conflict was in 2075, and that´s when Foster joined up, that would mean he´d be something like 105 years old in SL! As for Enriquez, I´d guess she´s in her thirties....Europa conflict for her.

Wasn´t the lunar conflict like 50 years earlier or something? That´s a bit out of the time range we´re writing.

In a bit of a nutshell, Starlancer: Dragon´s Fury is the story of all those we never saw in the game, from the giddy days before the Balma Treaty, to the dark days of the Alliance´s retread, to the triumph around Jupiter. Nice bit of propaganda, no? The 45th will make a passing appearance at most.

It´s a good thing we agreed to not call out first chapter ´before the storm´ Actually, I´m not the one writing the ITAC, although several of us are involved with collecting the information, to spread the workload around. You´d have to talk to Cobalt for details, but it should work very similar if not exactly like the in-game ITAC.

Well, essentially we´re going to have a mega-ITAC, for use by story writers, readers and those who simply want Sl background. As such it´s going to have all the stuff from the ITAC as well as all the details we come up with.
