also is there a way to make the blinking lights unblink as i have a good idea for an unblinking light.

you are dead right HCI I made a ship with 3214 polys and when you played the game with it ran fine but sometimes in the little scenes a ship would dissapear or half of it would. a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going

ahh!! RE could you tell me what ships your working on so i don´t. its nasty when you spend a day working on a ship then go online only to find some one else has done it. infact it would be a great help if any other modellers could tell me what there working on. this way we can get more ships done a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going

i would be happy to make the chig bomber. if you could e-mail a picture of it to me i would be most pleased. a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going

yes just create them in paint shop remember to use the palletes you got with sledit ( atleast i think it´s sledit) to do this just click the colour section in psp and then load pallete then search for the two pallets called spal.pal. then make you´re skin save it as a .bmp. then in milkshape choose the group you want to texture click on the materials tab. at the bottom select NEW then below the grey shpere that just appeared there is to long buttons that say none. click the top one, it opens up a browser search for you´re skin file and open it. now click assign at the bottom of the materials section. the group you have selected should turn dark grey. now press control+T and theres the texture editor re scale rotate until it fits where you want it to then youre done. oh yeh and remember change to texture view by right clicking in the 3d model window. a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going

the only way to connect the vectors is with the face tool. but i will say it is really hard to make a ship from scratch using just the vectors and face tools, the best way is to use the cylinder and box , sphere tools. just scale and pull the points out and reshape them till they look like somthing. for example make a shpere scale it down on one axis so it looks like a plate and hey you have the top of the starship enterprsie. i try not to use the faces and vector tool as much as posible, because when you convert them to .shp not the faces get converted . aint that true MAD DOG. a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going Edited by - GAG on 11/1/00 2:21:09 PM

you can only convert a 3ds to .shp file using sledit. but i think i saw some other convertion programmes in the edit downloads section. hope this helps a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going

i think the only way is to disable it then re-enable it again this is what i do. i think i read some where that the next version is going to have an unimport section to remove fighters. but if there is another way i´d like to know as well a headless chicken only knows where it has been never where its going

I have had the excact same prob a couple of times, just look at the back of the chiggyvr picture in the other post by the engine flames you can see a bit missing. i just go back to the main model check it all over if some faces are missing then i replace them if not i just re convert to 3ds again then to .shp again this sometimes helps, i think it´s just because you convert the files a couple of times and bits get lost. this is why sltool is so good because usually if it´s okay in sltool it´s okay in the game.

well i´m a welder actually. yes i stick two bits of metal together for a living. now you know why modelling is like the best fun ever to me. as for diving got to try it really it´s the best felling on earth. came almost head to head with a moray eel in egypt the thing wa massive almost sh*t myself, it was way cool.

as Mad Dog says he has to eject only because you have swapped him with the hammerhead it has no eject because I don´t know how to make it have an eject section , in fact i don´t think any custom ship is able to eject anyone tell me if i´m wrong so i can learn how they did it.

well believe it or not I´m a metal monkey ( welder) yes I spend all day joinning two pieces of metal together. now you know why I like modelling so much, it´s a lot cleaner. plus I help run a kickboxing class not much money in it but i doo get all that frustration from a model gone wrong out on some poor fellow. what about you Bargib what is you´re job apart from running this excellent site which is most appreciated right guys.

thats a lot of different skins why not have ago you´re self i only used paintshop pro for this one. the hard part is getting the right bits in the right place. go on try it.
