Sounds like a possibility that your dad, while listening to you, may not actually be hearing you. It may be a wise move to write him a detailed letter explaining exactly why your choice of education would be a better option, make sure (as Indy said) to back up everything you say with facts and were said facts were sourced from. I sometimes find that writing down exactly what you mean is sometimes better than a conversation as you can choose your wording more carefully, which is sometimes more difficult in a heated exchange of words.

Most people who originally came to this site were Wing Commander fans, mainly because Chris Roberts who was lead in the WC games founded Digital Anvil after he left Origin. Anywho, I never got to play WC1 or 2 but managed to come to the party for 3, 4 and Prophecy. Though I´d say many would disagree that 4 was the best, I´d have to say I enjoyed that one the most. Story wise it was the best one I played IMHO, the intrigue involved with Tolwyn and the Black Lance was very enjoyable.

I have had a few dreams where I realised i was dreaming. I don´t know about any of that talking to your subconsious crap, but I definately have become concious that I was dreaming and been able to controll the course of it. It´s only happened on a few rare occasions but it was very cool, you can just go boonta and do whatever the hell you want.

Hmmm, though I haven´t finished it yet i´d say Half Life 2 is the more polished of the two and i´d say that Far Cry is slightly more demanding on your hardware. Both are good games but Half Life is just that step above.

Haven´t tried it yet Shark, I really only got to spend half an hour with HL2 before I had to go out. I´ll try to load it up when I get home tonight and get back to you. Man is it just me or HL2 the most painful game in history to install? I literally spent two hours getting everything in a state where it was ready to play. Granted once you´ve got it running, it runs like a dream but bloody hell, the amount of red tape you have to cut through to get it installed and verified....what a pain in the arse!!

She did however let him do it? I think we all need to ponder that for a moment. You can´t exactly accuse someone of stealing your car when you hand over the keys, can you? Personally I find the whole thing a little disturbing, she should really be sitting the sick little puppy down and telling him that she shouldn´t have let him do it and that it won´t be happening again. EDIT: Ok edited some of that was a bit harsh and I´ve taken that out Wiz, but I still I stick by my statements. I´ve heard of a lot of guys (know of some too) that have consensual sex with a girl (or sometimes they have just rejected their advances) and then find themselves up on rape charges the next day. She´s either felt guilty about having sex with him or as I said he has rejected her advances or whatever. Their lives are thrown into turmoil for something that didn´t even occur, just to satisfy the girls sense of well being. Rape charges are very serious things and accusations should not be made with forthought to the consequences. I´m not saying that this is the case with your girl kimk, I can´t really comment to closely because I don´t have all the facts. However I wouldn´t go bumbling in blaming the cousing for the whole situation until you know exactly how things panned out. You have to ask a couple of questions, how much cohersion if any, was involved? was it physical or mental? why did she allow him to do it? how easily did she succomb to said cohersion? why does a younger relative feel he has control over her? True but we are creating a man made environment for ourselves, meaning that we will evolve in our new environment the same way we adapted to a natural environment. Providing Darwin was right of course, but we should develop ways to expell the toxins of crap fast food, develop improved skeletal structures to cope with excess weight, digest dairy products better, have livers of steal to cope with our immense alcohol consumption, improved thinking patterns to cope with the higher demands on our craniums, the ability to sleep less hours etc. So we will not be fighting or halting evolution, just evolving in our new environment.

It´s here! I have it! I am unable to play it! Damn this unholy day of workitude and it´s imposing stance against my gaming pleasure! Got the collectors addition, it comes in an enormous box which you think´d be full to the brim but nope. One t-shirt, one manual and one, yep that´s right one, dvd. All three games HL Source, HL2 and CS Source are stored on the one dvd. Very suprising though is the manual, it´s one of those really detailed colour jobbie´s that haven´t been seen since the 90´s. Still I have to wait to get home from work to see how it runs on my nVidia powered beast........I think I might be coming down with something....cough cough.....<img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

One of the guides to life, is to focus on the things you can change and not on the things you cannot. Otherwise you are just wasting energy on a pointless excercise that could be utilized more positively somewhere else. Take the unchangable things on board but don´t focus on them, learn to work around them.

I find it improbable that there is no alien life out there. For anyone to think that our planet is the only one in the entire universe capable of sustaining life is purely delusional.

I´m 6 flat, so I´m really in the middle somewhere, a little taller than short but still really mid height. Sometimes I wish I was shorter for the lower centre of gravity and it would make it easier to avoid people you don´t want to speak to.

I´d say you´d really have to see a game with someone who can explain it to you to really get it though. I mean we field arguably the best team in the world and have a summer dominated by the game and it still took me till I was 10 y.o. to really get it, granted I really couldn´t be arsed learning the game but still.
