The Humpback part sounds right with turrets but I want lots of toys and that takes MONEY! The life of an explorer, few folk around and lots of stuff to loot, mine, find and sell.

The end of Starlancer has the 5 sleeper ships heading out... towards Sirus area. 800 years later, folks have expanded a little.... must be all the sleep they stored up... ;p Double suns in one screen shot but during the demo, I for one didn´t notice the other stars names... my mouth was drooling over the graphics and game play I was seeing. This was last summer/early fall. Hope that helpsl.

No air resistance in space so shape shouldn´t matter. However shields would likely radiate in a globe central point OR follow the surface of some conductive surface. Solid thick forms should be more easily covered by a shield than something with multiple surfaces angles..... just a brain bubble bursting the the surface ..... <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

What is the facination with PKing? If you kill off those who are explores/minors/and trade, how are you going to upgrade your ships much from a wrecked ship worth only 1000 or so credits?

    Thought that wass part of the ´soon to be discovered´ plot line. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

The life of a trader with just a touch of larceny here and there to spice things up. Big freighter with five turrets sounds just about right. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

The Sol system stressed by war and then small groups crowded onto sleeper ships as a last desperate gamble for a way of life and race to survive. They make it to a new system and begin to struggle on new frontier planets. Stories and records lost or fogged, ….clans spread over several planets… no wonder history grows dim with time and distance…. Perhaps stories retold about &quot; The Homeland&quot; get added too when told to eager young minds around the dinner table. Whatever the number of missions, once we get into the game it won´t seem enough. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Starlancer was nice but it was sad this weekend to see two brand new boxes marked down to $5.

Don´t think your going to need a new graphic card, at least past reviews didn´t indicate as much. From last summer the info was but could have changed as they tighten up the game. 500 MHz Processor (ed.: recently changed to 600 MHz) 128 MB RAM 16 MB RAM 3D accelerated Video Card Mouse Keyboard DirectX-compliant Sound card Edited by - thehugg on 26-11-2002 06:29:01

From what I saw this summer it seemed to be shaping up combat, graphics, and size of the explorable space far beyond past Space games. I even enjoyed the mouse more than the joystick... but that´s just one persons view. I´ll bet though it has improved from what we´ve seen in past demo movies and screen shots. I´ve got money set aside for it. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> <img src=´http://home.mchsi.com/~larrywh…mages/freelancer_anim.gif ´> old guy

Kinetic weapons. Magnetic rail guns (small ones), mass projectile types. Battleaxes! I can just picture the launcher module mounted on a hardpoint now and ‘Thores Hammer’ class axe pin wheeling away to impact on some other fighter. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> <img src=´http://home.mchsi.com/~larrywh…ages/freelancer_anim2.gif ´> old guy

I had hear chatter last summer about the following. General Classis: 1. Kinetic weapons 2. Energy beams 3. Missiles 4. Mines &amp; decoys others… (EM blast, virus carrying signal, etc.) old guy!
