It´s quite complcated to find a friend who would be totally similar to you in all (well, nearly all) aspects. Besides, it would be a bit boring. It´s good to share the same interests, but that´s not a mandatory requirement. In friendship, the tolerance and acceptance of differences plays a major role. I must admit though that I better find common talk with ppl who share at least one of my interests (SciFi, gaming, metal music, etc.). Life is only given once ... and most often by accident

Sorry to revive a rather old topic, but I just came across an excellent book on apocalypse. The version is that the world will end due to the heating of the planet, BUT not due to the greenhouse effect. It´s gonna be heating up of the core. Lots of cataclysms, of course, and the remaining humans will finish the job. The description of the mass destruction (both natural and caused by humans) is just awesome. Heard about that method a good while ago. There was even an inquiry made, and some people (the minority, of course) really didn´t mind being scanned that way. I totally agree with Mustang - why waste your energy (and nerves) on things you can´t thange? It´s your life and wellbeing you should be most concerned about. Others do the same. Of course, if you can provide assistance without any harm to yourself, by all means, do so (especially if it makes you feel better), but if not - forget it - you can´t help everyone. Even if you tried, you´d be considered strange at best and a fool at worst.
