    I presently run flserver.com, and it is located in the NW portion of the USA. During a portion of last week there were several power outages, and unfortunately flserver.com was effected, briefly, by these outages. I am planning on keeping the top server list, as well as the decoding server for FLAccountBrowser up until the end of 2004 (avoiding any unforeseen circumstances). Any issues relating to flserver.com, or the tools I have written/posted can be sent to akataka@flserver.com.     As the owner/operator of Elite, I´d like to write that it has been a long, fun, and sometimes trying adventure, but well worth every moment. Thanks again to all the players (okay most), and great support group for a great experience. Many thanks to the TLR staff, who have helped promote and support the server throughout its lifetime. When there is an FL 2, you can be sure that I will be hosting a server once again. Play fair, don´t cheat, and have fun... see you soon. --A

    Keep an eye out for a version to be released tomorrow night. I have been waiting on a few features to be completed, but feel I should give everyone a chance to use it. Watch http://www.flserver.com tomorrow night for a link. (oh and a readme for fl connection mon? that sounds like a good idea &lt;g&gt; I´ll put something together) Also, FLConnectionMon requires Microsoft .NET framework v1.1, and no, it can be run from any directory.     This &quot;Elite 3&quot; is not the original &quot;Elite&quot;, but some new hardware I have access to... Yes, there are some network issues I am working on, and if they work out, this should be a grand server (though at this point not certain it will be up forever). Elite is up and running, but w/o new account creation enabled, for the time being. In addition, with the failed attempt to mod the server to prevent cheaters, and some recent network issues, the server has had better days.     Thanks for the great feedback (and compliments *blush*). I´m glad it has worked well for those who have tested it so far. Update to all those not on the beta right now. An RC1 build was released to many people this Sunday, and a public release will be available to the world later this week. Just a few more fixes/minor additions in version 1 (then a rest, and on to version 2). --A

    I apologize to everyone for not getting an updated version out to everyone. It is nearly ready, but I have been so very swamped with real-life work that remaining bug fixes have fallen behind. A first beta was sent out, and a new build is close to ready. If my laptop screen hadn´t died, I would have had it out this last weekend. With any luck, a new build will be ready this weekend, and I will broaden the testing scope. --Akataka

    Note to beta testers: The beta 1 list has been built, and those people have been notified. The remaining folks will be in the beta 2 and then I hope to have it ready for release. Unfortunately I have been travelling and haven´t had time to prepare the next build, but with any luck it should be ready by this Friday. Thanks to those few folks who tested the pre-beta build, your feedback has been helpful.

    There is actually, a purpose to, what some feel to be, this insane behavior: - No Password: As we are close to releasing the final version of the patch, we are inviting all players to join and do their best to crash/hack/break the server. - Lowering player count: This is temporary, but from the admin perspective (I don´t actually get to play on this server, or the game at all, much) it appears that there are several moments when lag is quite bad. I am referring to the times when the FL server console indicates that there is a 400-600+ MS server load, followed by a few e-mail/postings indicating the lag was quite extreme. My first and foremost task is to make this a great server for all. Suggestions, questions, comments always welcome, here, or via e-mail (akataka@flserver.com). - Password? - Maximum players (on current hardware)? - Latest patch comments? (there has to be something good/bad about it, anyone?) Thanks, --A
