What level are you at? I found they didn´t drop anything at all until I was at level 35. If they still refuse to drop anything, try switching places to kill them, i.e. if you´re killing them in Omicron Alpha, try Omicron Gamma.

It takes time, but there´s a sure-fire way to fix your rep problems, especially with Liberty factions. Go to Colorado, and in the asteroid field between the New York jumpgate and Pueblo Station, about 15K west of the trade lane, there´s a Xeno base (Ouray). Go over there and blast Xenos for about 30 minutes and the LPI, Navy, LSF, Republican, Ageira, Rogues, Outcasts, Lane Hackers, DSE, and most of the other factions I can think of should be in the white, if not in the green. Check your rep with the Zoners periodically and bribe them before they get to red (they don´t appreciate you killing Xenos). On a MP server I play I´ve killed so many Xenos that out of like 30 or 40 factions, only 2 are hostile: the Xenos (duh) and the Bundschuh. I can basically go almost anywhere without being bothered.

This has been posted not too long ago. The admin should make <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=12474&amp;forum_id=16&amp;Topic_Title=Complete+reputation+checks+and+balances+%2A%2A%2A%2AMASSIVE+SPOILERS%2A%2A%2A%2A&amp;forum_title=Freelancer+Spoiler+Forum&amp;cat_title=Freelancer&amp;M=False´ Target=_Blank>that thread</a> sticky. There´s also <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=12705&amp;forum_id=16&amp;Topic_Title=empathy%2Eini+exported+into+Excel+spreadsheet&amp;forum_title=Freelancer+Spoiler+Forum&amp;cat_title=Freelancer&amp;M=False´ Target=_Blank>a post here</a> with the empathy.ini in spreadsheet format. That tells you how doing something to one faction will affect others. Edited by - RunOrDie on 04-04-2003 21:22:55 Edited by - RunOrDie on 04-04-2003 21:25:13

    1) Did you try hammering ESC? (for those who don´t know, you can use ESC for everything from aborting a lane jump in mid-flight to skipping the godawful annoying dialogue). 2) Probably some weird anomaly. <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> 3) The docking ring was destroyed during the single player campaign, so you can´t dock to Sprague. 4) There´s no real consensus on when exactly wrecks respawn. And they don´t always drop stuff, even if they DO respawn. Try leaving the system and returning. Try restarting the server. Etc. 5) Nomads are relatively easy to kill, just make sure you don´t get hit too often, their weapons chew through level 10 shielding like a hot knife through butter. If you want them to drop weapons you need to be level 35 or better. Their weapons are powerful, but they´re not worth anything money-wise (less than $5000 each).

Once you undock, go around Malta until you see the smaller planet orbiting it (I forget the name). Then just head straight out and the Hispania should appear. I found it because I did about 10 missions killing Bounty Hunters in that area - it´s hard to miss.

When you enter an area with ships from multiple factions, the allies of those specific one(s) that are hostile to you will also turn hostile. In effect, that means that to get to Manhattan and dock you not only need to be friendly with the faction controlling the planet (LPI) but also with all of their allies. Check your reputation with the Navy; Interspace; Border World Exports; Cryer; Ageira; Gateway shipping; and other shipping companies. Those are some of the factions you might see around Manhattan. If any of them are hostile, the entire region will also turn hostile. If it does, you may have to leave the system for a while for things to calm down, or it will remain hostile. Even if a faction is ALMOST red but still appears white, there´s a chance they´ll turn hostile and attack you if you hang around them too much.

The Tohoku system is used during the single player campaign only, just like Alaska, Omicron Minor and Omicron Major. Also several convenient shortcuts used during the SP campaign do not work once the campaign is finished or you play in MP.

Ok, for the 1000th time: This is a sound bug. Follow the steps in the Readme.doc for sound troubleshooting. If nothing works, try reloading an earlier saved game. Some people reported that after reloading a couple of times, it worked.

There are various L10 guns you can find. They have different speeds/refire rates but they all boil down to about the same damage per second (around 2000). I´ve found Diamondbacks, Wildfire´s, Guardians, and some others. Check the various wrecks in the border world systems, they usually drop them.

At this point the tag system is either broken or buggy and needs to be fixed (and explained somehow). As an example, I once had a Xenos tag although I´d been slaughtering them for hours and they were (obviously) on full red. Some people say the tag changes only when you dock to a base and/or when you disconnect/reconnect to a server, but I´ve had my tag change on me inexplicably even in mid-flight.

Gaia is in the Edinburgh system, it´s got no docking ring but there´s a luxury liner orbiting it where you can dock. The Gaians´ home base is in the cloud to the north-east of the planet.

The only place it´s sold is Bruchsal Base in the Frankfurt system. You must be friendly with the Bundschuh (sp?) to buy it. I don´t know the exact coordinates of the base, but it´s just off the trade lane that goes to the Sigma-13 jump gate. Check the patrol routes to find it.

The wise choice was getting rid of that Defender. The Bounty Hunters would have been all over you. The Cavalier is the best light fighter you can get at this point in the game. If you´re more into heavy fighters, most battleships in the region should sell the Crusader. There´s also the Wolfhound which you can buy at a Molly or Rogue base. The only thing you HAVE to do is make some money. How you do that, is up to you. Some people prefer trading, others taking missions.

You can do anything you want. Explore, trade, take missions, it´s up to you. I won´t tell you what to buy or stuff like that, but this is a spoiler forum so there are lists all over the place of where to find the best fighters, equipment, there´s complete maps too. Use them if you want. But if you´re looking for a thread or something you can follow, well, there isn´t any once the SP campaign is over. Personally I think playing SP after that is a waste of time. It´s much more fun playing multiplayer.

Don´t bother fixing your rep with anyone during the SP campaign, it keeps getting reset. Also where exactly are you in the campaign? If I´m not mistaken, once you get to Leeds (after mission 4) your ship is &quot;tagged&quot;, i.e. you should get rid of it and the Bounty Hunters should become neutral. Although they´re a pretty widespread guild, they´re certainly not everywhere. Don´t hang around the bases where you say you get attacked by them often. Don´t fight, run. Use afterburners or cruise. There´s no reason you have to waste a ton of shield batteries. I had no issues with them after I changed ship in Bretonia, and I don´t remember the SP campaign resetting them. But then again I just blazed through the campaign without trying to trade/explore, just by doing those boring random missions over and over until I leveled-up and could continue with the SP missions. In fact, they ended up liking me quite a bit since I did a ton of missions for the local law enforcement.
