sure, just multiply the numerator and denominator by the same number! <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

I hate to answer such an obnoxious poster, but have you checked to make sure that your operating system isn´t hiding file extensions on you?

Typically, the last number (which is always 1, except in market_commodities.ini, where it serves a purpose) is the price multiplier. It either doesn´t work on ships, or it´s not the price multiplier. All I can tell you is that marketgood = ship_package, lev_req, rep_req, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1 is a buyable ship and marketgood = ship_package, lev_req, rep_req, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1 is just INI fodder.

Add this key: DATA/constants.ini [Constants MAX_PLAYER_AMMO = 999999999999 If you want, you can edit the "volume" of your ammo and it´ll take up cargo hold space instead of relying on some silly constant. I´d love to make all equipment take up volume in the player´s ship so players have to customize their ship carefully, but that´s a big project and I have other fish to fry at the moment.

I get the feeling that vignetteparams.ini is a dead end. Looking at the instructions that the nodes have (objective_text, comm_sequence, documentation, Offer_group, offer_text, Difficulty), it doesn´t seem that this file does anything other than assist some built-in script to generate mission text and tell the player what to do. I´m starting to think that the random missions are generated by some hard-coded scripts in the EXE, or one of the DLLS. I´m hoping for the latter. Can anyone decompile these, or point me toward some tools I can use to do so?

I´ve been trying to figure out random missions myself. Here´s my thread: <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=12844´ Target=_Blank>vignetteparams.ini - post everything you know, let´s figure this sucker out</a>

Cool, thanks! Now I will proceed to completely ignore them... <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

It reboots?! Sounds like you need a better operating system. Saved games under XP are in: C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEMy DocumentsMy GamesFreelancerAcctsSinglePlayer Not sure about where they are under other OS´s.

What program?

Seems like 997m is the farthest I can be from loot and still be able to use the "grab all loot" key. This is strange, because the default tractor beam has a range of 1500! That´s right folks, your unmodified tractor beam *does* work from farther away, but you have to tell it specifically what to grab. It´s most likely a constant (whether defined in the INI or hard-coded into a EXE/DLL)

Search Forum. I recall reading a thread which explained at least one of these files.

Use the "[ code" forum tag to space things out. Unfortunately, it looks like the pipe symbol is being changed into forward slashes. This forum is really quirky. <pre><font size=1 face=Courier>. / / / <------------> / / / </font></pre> Bah! Forget it. Draw something in Windows Paintbrush and upload it somewhere instead. Go to your freelancer CD and reinstall. It won´t remove any of your save games.

This mod makes mod testing a dream. Some INI changes won´t take effect (or will crash FL) unless you start a new game, and this mod makes it painless to do so. It´s now faster to start a new game than to load a saved one! *buys Xerx a beer* Cheers Xerx, and thanks! <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

Ok, ok, enough debate, I´m tired! <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Any thoughts on how to make using the tractor beam disable your shields?

Does anyone have a list of system names to ID´s? EDIT: <A href=´http://www.lancersreactor.org/t/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=13305´ Target=_Blank>Oh, look, I found one!</a> (please add to first post!) <img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Hello me... meet the real me! If you reset the volume to zero, won´t you be able to fit an infinite amout of crap into your hull? <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

They´re defined in RANDOMMISSIONS/killablesolars.ini

> Getting RM´s to take place at coordinates I picked about covers what I know. Care to share? I just started trying to do that. I´ve been trying to limit the jobs in New York to one zone (just outside Manhattan), but I can´t seem to get rid of spots in the Detroit Debris Field and in the Badlands, or make random missions happen outside Manhattan.
