don't worry, I know about that, I even have a copy of the exe that already has that set, but I've read that anything over 1000 m/s causes major lag and server problems.

my thought would be that it would make "cruise" and "thrusters" a little more useful as well as with the larger planets, give a more realistic feel.

I was curious what the newest limit was on cruise speeds and engines speed were for MP before causing bug problems. Also, I had another crazy idea, but can't find the entry. instead of making everything faster, what if you made everything slower and changed the names on the distances. M -> Km, Km - > IDK. Throw that ontop of giant worlds, and I think it'd be cool. Thoughts as well as where that IDS is for those?

sorry to say, but no. because there's so many changes, even if you did get FL to recognize the file in the mod, it would crash because of "missing structure"

With base FL, when you set the Linear_Drag to 0 on an engine, the ship floats around like a real life spaceship unabled to dock. 600 is standard handling. Any less causes more float, and more causes you to be able to turn and stop on a dime. By moving this to shields, you can add a second shield HP to the ship, then create an item that is just for the linear drag. That way you can control the kind of handling you want.adoxa

As I was sitting on the toilet, playing Freelancer in my head, I had a crazy idea. Would it be possible to add linear_drag to shields? That way you could create "Gravity Wells". They wouldn't help you as of a protecting you so to say, but it would allow you to control the handling of your ship.

with a good hexeditor, you open up the value and replace the value, the editor should automatically place the new string in.

Hehe, hardly suprising, I'm the silly mare who rescripted etc a couple or 3 ship meshes. The corporate war fleet mod has never been released (it's not finished, still got to tweak the random merchant encounters, random capship patrols, sort out the new mats for the liberty police corvettes, finish the stuff for the dockable shipyards for buying capships in, bar scripting, all kindsa stuff, including messing about with the untryed docking types like 'pad' and small_moor).
The 'mod' I'm best known for if at all was the ADPtah, right up at the top of the shipmod list here.
