<<< I then fly with no loadout to the nexus. No problems until I land on Freeman´s Base. >>> I meant to say that I fly with no cargo. I still have my weapons and equipment. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

OK. I completely wiped Freelancer, the mod and FLMM; directories, files and all. I reinstalled FL, rebooted, ran it once and setup my settings. Installed FLMM 1.2 (the link on your site to 1.2BETA is dead, so I installed 1.2 from Lancer´s DL page. Hope this is correct). Installed TNG 1.55. Patched to 1.56B. Activated the mod and started a new game. After I return Ashcroft for Mission 2, I have a ton of money, so I buy a FEDEX and goto the Nexus. The FEDEX is outfitted with the standard shield, thruster and equipment. I am using 5 Badariel lvl 3 turrets found in the wrecks in NY. I then fly with no loadout to the nexus. No problems until I land on Freeman´s Base. Lands fine, but when I click on any room, after it appears to be done loading the room, it crashes to desktop. the music is still playing and the application shows up in the taskbar, but freelancer.exe is gone from the task list. DXDIAG.EXE is running in the process list, however, and is chewing up CPU and RAM. After 30 seconds, dxdiag and Freelancer on the taskbar closes and Windows wants to send an error report. The CD-ROM also spins up during those 30 seconds. When I goto Trader´s Paradise, I still can´t buy anything due to unfriendliness with Universal Shipping, which is incorrect as I am friendly with them. Again, I have legal copy of Windows XP Pro SP1 with every Windows update patch applied (including DX 9.0. I have a GeForce3 TI 200 and I am running the newest video driver from Nvidia´s site (same as the one from Windows update as Nvidia´s newest driver is WHQL certified. I tried both, same problem). I have a 1.5GHz P4 on an Intel board with 256MB RAM with a SB Live 5.1 XGamer. I´m not hacking or using any other mods. This happens every time I´m in the Nexus. Please see if you can replicae this problem, because I sure can; over and over and over again. Thanks Rey "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Also Reynen, Have you seen the problem where you can´t buy anything at Trader´s Paradise? It´s owned by Universal Shipping, who I am friendly with, but I can´t even buy commodities because it says I need to be on friendlier terms. Weird. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

I´m running the base 1.0 version. Last I heard, the 1.1 version caused problems. And yes, it is the American English version. I followed your clean install of the mod instructions perfectly, but had the problem. Unlike your instructions, I uninstalled FL, then reinstalled and had the problem. I just deleted the FL directory and reinstalled as per your instructions, used my save game from before and it still happened. Gonna uninstall, delete all directories and saved games, reinstall everything, and try again from the beginning. It appears to be a DirectX issue, so using an old save game shouldn´t be a problem (it was from the same version). The tradelanes were working fine for me as of the 1.56B patch, btw. I´ll let you know if this resolves the issue. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Having the same problem as Xenocideforme in the Nexus on Freeman´s Base. Also, when I goto Trader´s Paradise, I can´t buy any commodoties, because it says that I need to be on friendlier terms. The base belongs to Universal Shipping, and they are green for me. I even did three missions for them, making us massively friendly, but I still can´t buy commodoties, or weapons or upgrades, for that matter. I´m in between mission 2 and 3 right now, using a FEDEX with standard loadout. This is quite frustrating and makes no sense (like the Freeman´s Base problem which I believe is DirectX-related). Please look into this when u have a chance Rey. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Also in the nexus, I seem to be having trouble accessing things at certain bases. e.g. If I try to goto the ship dealer, equip dealer, or anything else at Freeman´s Base, I crash to desktop. Freelancer is still running, but I also see DXDIAG.EXE running in my processes list, chewing up 100MB of RAM and most of my CPU. I am fully patched with my Nvidia display driver (using a GeForce3 TI400) and DirectX 9.0B from Windows Update, along with every other update for WinXP SP1. I completely wiped Freelancer and FLMM, reinstalled Freelancer, reinstalled FLMM 1.2, reinstalled the mod to 1.55, then patched to 1.56B. Got past Mission 2, took a FEDEX to the Nexus, landed successfully on Freeman´s, still crashes when I access anything and DXDIAG is running. I´m getting this at other bases in the Nexus as well. Any thoughts? "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Yeah, I guess I´ll use God Mode also...tried the damn mission 40 times. I´d like to make it thru the right way, but it is too weighted to those damn cruisers. The problem will be fixed in 1.5, so it might be worth just waiting for that. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

MML, I have the same ship you do (love that shadow beam), and am stuck there too. I´ve tried plenty of times and as soon as I try to dock with the tradelane after it´s all over, those two cruisers annhialate me instantly. Since the Starfyre guys have pretty much figured out the mission 12 problem that you´ve probably heard about, I am going to wait for 1.5 to before I go any further. Keep up the good work Rey...I hope after this initial phase of debugging and getting a sense of what causes bugs, that you guys start thinking about throwing in more complicated missions on the job boards. Though the game gives you freedom, it lacks in depth. When you guys are past the initial debug phase, please give that some thought. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Stay strong Rey. It´s a tough time for all of us here in the US. A few months ago, I was fortunate to snag a solid IT position for a major marketing company in Manhattan (Island, not Planet). I thank God everyday for having the job. Do whatever you have to do to keep the family going, man. We´ll weather this cold storm soon and together as always. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

LOL...you tell him Rey. People need to clearly understand that this game was released only a few months ago and making mods of this magnitude can take a long time to perfect. Currently, I like the Rebalance Mod by Michael Dan the most, but I´m not giving up on Starfyre since MD and all of the other best minds in the FL mod community are a part of TNG. Stop playa hatin´ and start debugging. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Frontier Fan: Darklight is correct, you need to change a setting. If you are using Win2000 or XP, then you have to goto START > CONTROL PANEL > FOLDER OPTIONS. Then click the VIEW tab and one of the check boxes will be "Hide Extensions for known file types." This must be UNCHECKED for you to see the file extension, which is a .ZIP file. Rename the file and change .ZIP to .flmod and it should load into FLMM just fine. BTW, anyone else who has never gone thru and learned about every option in the control panel etc., needs to realize that if you don´t learn to use your own computer, it will start owning you. If beginners also use your computer, turn the aforementioned setting back on after you are done since beginners can F up a computer pretty well with it on. If you are a beginner, you should probably not be installing mods, or anything else for that matter. If you are a beginner and are on a high-speed connection, a hacker owns your computer by now and you are unknowingly serving up gigs of illegal software and/or MP3´s to the world. MD: Don´t waste time or braincells answering the easy questions (what´s a mod? Why do I need to download FILM? Why is there so much killing in the world?). Many of us or more than happy to take that burden off your shoulders so you can focus on the task at hand. Then you´ll have free time to fly down here to the real Manhattan where I´ll get you drunk and laid by hot American women. Can´t do that in Freelancer. There should be a Planet Bang*** in the Kusari sector where you can really spend your money wisely Great work man...keep it up. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Anyway we can get rid of some of the SP cut-scenes that I can no longer stand? SULU: "That´s why we had to steal that thing; because it´s important to the nomads." Poor guy has sunk to new depths. Relief from any of these cut-scenes would be nice...allowing the escape key to skip them would be ideal. Also, please release the 1.4 patch soon or I will have to start a trendy heroin habit. Mission 12 is a dead-end, as you know. Jonathan Rhys-Davies: "C´mon Mr. Wizard, I´ll bet you´re here to see the misses." Not too surprising as he was in Wing Commander 3 with Luke Skywalker, another immediate has-been. I hope they´re spending their $500 checks wisely. ***END OF RANT*** Thanks for all the hard work Reynen. Thanks again for turning this game around. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Reynen, I believe that you are correct about the cause of the "hitbox" problem with the Y-Wing fighter, since I remember seeing the same problem with that ship in Rebalance 1.9B w/ Patch. It´s incredibly difficult to hit that ship after killing it´s shields. Speaking of shields, is there any way to make the size of some of the shields smaller. I´ve been using the Shadow Crab and when I fly throught the Badlands or asteroid fields, I hit almost everything. The shields definitely seem to extend out too far from the surface of the hull. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

Shiznit 500 and I appear to be having similar problems with mission 12. I, however, never even get to the power cell. I´ve gone thru it several times already and no matter how I play it, I crash to desktop before even taking out the generators. If I fire at the incoming nomad ships, it crashes. If I rush to the gens and start shooting them before I get the OK, it crashes. If I wait a reasonable amount of time, I can take out the first gen, but then it crashes soon after. I don´t see what could be causing it. Has anyone found a way to get past it? I was using the Shadow Crab. Juni, King and other NPC´s routinely have problems keeping up with me, even though I have no special ship or mods running. This has sometimes caused missions to fail. I ran into some other bugs, but I´m gonna wait till you release 1.4 before I post a thorough bug report for SP. Good luck with the debug process. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"

I was checking out the Earth Alliance Systems and was running into several crashes to desktop. There´s a lot of action there, so that´s probably why. Bought the Voyager and it is pretty intense. I´m having fun, and staying out of Bretonia. "Without Mods, this game is toast!"
