Hauling cargo is only more profitable than missions if you don´t hire protection. Even if you do hire protection, you could still get butt-raped by any pker in a VHF. Doing missions is less risky, as you won´t be carrying as much cargo with you when you die, if you do. Anyway, trade routes are boring. It shouldn´t take that many missions to get a new ship. Try flying an Eagle, too. Easier to dodge the fire from the nomads that way and it can mount the same shield. Once I got a reinforcement of 18 Stillettos. The Bundschuh are generous with their ships. And about the original post of facing 8 rogues in a starflier and their not hitting you. The starflier has little power, but it is one of the hardest ships to hit in the game if not the hardest, it doesn´t mean they have bad aim if you fly well. I´ve been there Kinda empty, but I like the rules. I plan to play there as much as possible. You have my support, even though that doesn´t mean much.

Only problem is, sometimes you have to fight a wave of cronies first.
