wth are you on about killa. that is the ´cleaned up´ version of my speech, and pesonally, if you´re worried about forcing people to stop saying god damn (god damn these people who say gad damn, gad damn it!) then you´re gonna get a shock when you get older.........god damn it. "Love Shark´s one bad mutha--" "Shut yo mouth!" "He´s talking about Love Shark!" "Yeah, he´s one baaaad mutha--" "Shut! Yo! Mouth!" -:- You wanna revolution?

Weeeelllll... Time for my other two cents. It all really boils down to this: Macs are suited for those who want a clean interface, and for those who like a powerful graphics development tool. Mac are the absolute BEST when it comes to graphics. Linux is great for a hardcore geek or programmer. I´m not as 1337 as i should be to use linux, but im learning. It takes a lot, but it starts to remind me of the DOS days. ahh, the memories. Windows is for everyone else who is too stupid to use linux, too uncreative to use a mac properly, or wants to play all the latest ´blockbuster´ games, which are hard to get running on linux. (I got Quake and Unreal running quite well.) I would also like to point out that most viruses and trojans are designed for windows users. -:- You wanna revolution?

Its kind of a shame to see these games omitted from the ´Best Game´ list: System Shock 2 - a game that even today with it´s somewhat dated graphics, still can scare the willies out of me. To me, it was scarier than Doom 3. Deus Ex - God damn I love this game. This is the #1 on Shark´s all time favourite games list. For it´s day, using the Unreal Tournament engine, it looked pretty schwing, and the gameplay was the perfect melding of an RPG and a FPS. Voice acting in it was pretty good too, strange to see that nowadays. Total Annihilation - Best. RTS. Ever. Period. I stand by that today as i did when i first got it. There are abilities and functions in TotalA that no other RTS has ever matched. Build queues, multiple orders are slowly making a their way into current titles, but it took them, how long? TA was realeased in 1997. In 8 years, no one has put those back in... It is a shame that TA:Kingdoms sucked absolute ass, and was the cause of Cavedog´s demise. Max Payne & Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne - one of the best storylines in a game ever. Beautiful to look at, to listen to, and to enjoy. Evil Genius - God damn this game is funny. Kept me entertained for ages. One of those games which are truly unique, and it is a shame the publishers wont touch stuff like this normally. Uplink - If you´ve played it, you know what i´m on about. Scorched Earth - Again, those who remember, will remember the fun had with this game. Tanks were never so much fun. For the worst? Let me run the list: Star Trek Elite Force 2 - Sorry, but this game is pants. The worst implication of a story i´ve seen in a while. It looks good, but it handles bad and the acting sucks. Predictable as hell too. Mechwarrior series - I hate these games with a passion, it´s waay too fiddly for my likes. Really only for the hardcore battletech fans. Mech Commander 2 was good though, albeit a tad short. Bart´s Nightmare (SNES) - I don´t want to remember this game. It´s just too painful. There´s a buttload of others. I just don´t want to remember them all. -:- You wanna revolution?

The idea of a ´veteran´ forum could possibly work, based on a restricted access policy, with the regular TLR being a screening point. And a high postcount could not guaruntee entry. Thats my ideas on it anyway. -:- You wanna revolution?

I have to disagree with Wilde and demonslayer here. Suicide is not a cowardly act in the eyes of the one attempting it. To some, removing themselves from the world seems a noble task, removing another soul from the burden of the planet. To call a suicidal person a coward would be quite ill-advised and wouldn´t help them at all. -:- You wanna revolution?

Arania: There are time in life that everyone goes through, a time of self doubt, questioning and mild depression, and unfortunately, it is a all part of the human condition. Everyone normally used to have to deal with this by themselves, due to fear of ridicule from peers, but in today´s lifestyle you have strangers who share your feelings and state of mind, but who really, in the great scheme of things don´t have a great deal of importance in you life. In the times of the internet, anybody can connect with others with the same problems, in an environment that is, at times, uninfluential and your actions and words can have less meaning here than in your own life. George in your class will be able to give you hell every day, but teh1337-1 from Idaho can´t really do squat. And in this environment, a lot of people can be a lot more open, because it has no impact on your real life. But that doesn´t mean it´s not important. Most of us here have had the same experiences as you, and will share their experiences, and the ways that they dealt with it. The people I know online know as much about me as my closest friends, but because they are a rather long way away, they can´t really tell people about it. But I guess i´m rambling on here a bit. Don´t forget that this resource is here. And, true to my word, I will share my experiences on the subject. Most of the people I know, are unaware of condition. I have a clinical case of manic depression. However, most of the time, I have the ability to control it. Some of my manic phases have actually helped me and others through hard times, but if I slide far enough into depression, it can be rather nasty. That is one of the reasons I don´t drink alcohol regularly, as it loosens my control over my emotions, and either I become super happy and funny (thats not so bad for me, others, its a different story) or I become depressed, sometimes unable to find the will to move. But there are things that I do to take care of it. My photography, my music, and my writing keeps me sane. A creative outlet can make all the difference. I know that you got some writing talent Arania, so try and keep you mind occupied that way. I listen to certain styles of music to lift my spirits, to lessen the effect of the depression. At times ridiculously happy music can make me feel worse, so a balance must be found. I´m not completly aware of th emusic you´re into, so I wont make too many suggestions, but the new Audioslave album ´Out Of Exile´ can drastically brighten my mood, Daft Punk has the same effect too. Try to avoid really overtly happy or sad songs, as they either bring you down worse, or make you feel out of place because the musician is happy and you´re not. Go somewhere quiet where you feel happy. Outside your room would be preferable, even if you climb on your own roof and stare at the scenery, it would give you a moment of peace to reflect. (small note: make sure you know what you´re doing if you get up on the roof... dont want any accidents to happen...) I dont know if these are any help, but it´s what I do to get out of my states, which, are very similar to yours. And the girl, giver her time and space. She sounds like she´ll come around. Just be patient. I´m still waiting to find the right girl. Jask the Love Shark -:- You wanna revolution?

okay, you want to make techno, and you dont have a synth. good luck. However you can find freeware instuments and drum machines (true techno is melody created with only rhythm and drums), Hammerhead is a great free drum machine... what else... find a TB303 emulator if you can, they rock. -:- You wanna revolution?

Hmm... this is a tad one dimensional... however, keep up the good work, some rather nice melodies in there. At this point, Love Shark must make some shameless self-promotion on this subject. The rather exuberant Psychedelic Electronic group known as Z-Axis has almost completed an EP, ´Z-Axis and The Depth Of Infinity´. A couple of these tracks will be up for you listening pleasure as soon as the upload has finished. (i´ll post an addy then too.) This has been a public service announcement on behalf of Edible Audio Records. http://www.myspace.com/depthaxis Myspace site for Z-Axis, a great place if you want to keep your music yours. If you want a downloadable copy, email me. -:- You wanna revolution? Edited by - Love Shark on 9/3/2005 10:28:41 PM
