And the jump hole descriptions are left over from an earlier version of Freelancer, as you can see if you scan them.

There are several jump holes/gates that are locked once you finish the story. I can remember: Chugoku -> Tohoku Hokkaido -> Tohoku Leeds -> Dublin Cambridge -> Leeds (I think) Magellan -> Leeds New York -> Alaska Might be more, I can´t remember.

You can find many rumours on many bases in the Texas system about the Dallas Incident - check around a bit, you´ll quickly build up a good idea of what happened.

Press the Print Screen button while you´re playing. It´s above the Insert button. All shots you take this way are dumped in FreelancerShots in My Pictures.

You must finish the Story missions before really choosing your own path. But once you have finished, you are literally free to do whatever you want. You can take missions from any faction you like (assuming that you´re friendly - if not you´ll have to either work a bit or be rich to get them friendly). The first step to being a bad guy is once you finish the story missions, get a Junkers bribe if you´re hostile to the Junkers. Then, by visiting Junkers bases throughout Sirius, you´ll be able to pick up bribes for most criminal factions. You can use arbiter.de for navigation purposes and to find the Junker bases. The other way to become a bad guy is, of course, to kill the criminal factions´ enemies. That means Police, MIlitaries, and Corporations. A good starting place is the set of Storage Depots outside Manhattan. Killing Storage Depots does wonders for your rep.

You do realise that the admins of servers can use IFSO to jump instantly between systems? That´s far more likely to be the case, we´ve been through this before and decided that a jump drive is impossible to make.

Click the small blue icon in the upper left corner of the equipment picture to mount/unmount equipment. You have to be docked, of course.

/i is exceptionally useful for getting into a group again when your friend has had to go for a while - you may be many systems away at the time. And /l messages everyone you can see under "Important" in the Contacts list.

er...the area around the neutron star in Omega 41 does serious damage to your ship...

The only thing I can think of is that you somehow have corrupted data. Download the Freelancer SDK and see if that solves your problem.

The Global Server occasionally goes down. If you know the IP address of the server you wish to play on, you can add it manually to your list. Create a Freelancer shortcut, and alter its Target field to read thus: http://img.photobucket.com/alb…4/darkstone_/shortcut.jpg In that particular image the IP address is for the Jolt.co.uk server on port 2302, and you simply change that to your server´s IP.

My mistake. Looking through empathy.ini it turns out that the Hessians do indeed like the Blood Dragons. Probably the whole disregard for authority thing.
-
Zoners have no rep change with Outcasts. What´s actually happening is that Outcasts are allied to Lane Hackers, to which the Zoners are also implicitly allied. Corsairs are indeed allied with the Junkers. I´ve no idea why killing Hessians makes the BH angry with you. It should get your rep up loads.

I´d guess that´s just an error in the program...

Go to arbiter.de, and you can find a full set of Nav Maps, for every system in the game. If you get stuck, look there for where to find the next jump hole.
