I agree. The reason Microsoft isn´t having any updates, i think, is because this game is already three years old (i´d still love updates, though), and they´re focussing on new games. But we should make a petition on http://www.petitiononline.com, everyone should sign there, have a comment, and i´d think we´d have a massive number of signs, as Freelancer has a huge community of active fans! Anyone interested in the http://www.petitiononline.com idea ? Yup, got to options and disable the 3D sound, my game used to crash too (for a month), but now it´s back up and working again..

true, I was just getting all excited with the stats and all <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> To me, all I need is a <b>huuuuge </b> universe, some new things to see in the universe (not just a bigger version of the original), having multiple ships would be handy, and the mining vessel would be a nice newcomer, and a welcome expansion to the (relatively boring) mining aspect...

@Amedeus: I was just curious what lied behind the jumpgate, I´m getting excited while roaming freely around in space you see, that´s what I love about Freelancer, you get to see and discover awesome things..

Sorry guys, i wasn´t attacking anyone. I haven´t really used so much mods, but if you read the technical errors forum, you see loads of errors resulted from mods. I´m not saying they´re all faulty, and i have tons of respect to mods-makers, as some mods can indeed raise your gameplay fun, and they´ve spent months working on them. I was just trying to say that some (a minority) can cause some damage (which you can probably repair anyway), and that´s why I´m pretty careful with installing them. I´m pretty sure there are lots of brilliant mods out there, so loads of respect to the people who made them, and my apologies to my ´quote´, i didn´t mean to point any fingers in any way...

yes you can. My friend told me the /invite command, I tried it and it worked (you can invite someone from systems away, instead of having to fly to each other, select him, and then invite, etc.). So i guess there should be more (or are those commands server-specific ?)

Some more ideas: - Be able to buy more than one ship, or a way to transfer cash from one account to another (so you can trade, fight, explore, etc. without having to buy another ship every time). - More commodities and contraband (more than just Cardamine and Artifacts) - A way to customize your ship without having to modify the ini files (think of purchasable or importable skins, customizable bodies for your ship, customizable wings, whatever) - The ability to get a reputation on a battleship. Like if you´re friendly with a certain faction, you could do loads of jobs for them, and help people with tasks on the battleship. You could slowly become a commander and take control over the battleship (just an idea <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>) - Better mining (think of a mining vessel you could control to drill holes into large asteroids in asteroid fields, that´d be cool) - be able to purchase a train - be able to become a pirate and tax CPU´s offline - black holes !

I have <i>no </i> idea how/why you´d do that. I´m pretty sure it was just a random glitch. Or it might be the result of a lag if you were playing online..

Yeah, if you want to do it by the book, you´ll have to play the storyline. But don´t worry, you´ll get the access codes to all of Liberty fairly early on.. Then you manoevre further on and go freelance for a while, until Juni needs you again, and you´ll get more access codes as you play. i´d recommend you to play the storyline, as you get to do some cool missions, and otherwise, Juni will bother you the whole time if you ignore her <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> But you can also use the mod of course, the choice is up to you.. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> I´d rather not use any mods, as there are so many faulty ones that tend to mess up your game.. Yeah, some tips: - Play the single player campaign missions to get the access codes to Jumpgates uploaded to your neuronet, then you can access other parts of space (where you can get it cheap, if you got some bribes) - go wreck-hunting, there´s a wreck carrying cardamine in NY, adn there are loads of ´em throughout the galaxy.. - watch your rep (get befriended with the Outcasts, that´s what I´d do, just make sure the entire liberty system isn´t after you) On my old online save file, i had all of Liberty, Rheinland and Kusari after me.
